Unhappy Best dealership in DFW? (Or should I buy from out of town..)

Hey everyone...

I'm in the market to order an '09 E90 M3, with a possibility of buying an '08 in stock if the color/option combo is right. After visiting various salesmen at Classic BMW, BMW of Dallas, and Autobahn BMW, I'd have to say I'm fairly put off so far with the DFW dealerships. I've had a mix of the following:

- Refusal to put any kind of discount on in stock or new orders (with BMW of Dallas telling me I'd have to pay over MSRP for a new order??). They are all claiming the "hot commodity" that is the M3 where everywhere else I read that the M3 is stagnant (and you can tell from dealer inventory there are at least 4-5 M3s at everyone of the dealerships I've seen)
- Generally uninformed salesmen... Not a single one of them knew anything about updated iDrives, facelifts, anything! Is there a dealer/salesman from this area that is knowledgable? I'm somewhat new to BMW and I'd like to NOT have to explain everything I've read on bimmerfile.com or this forum in the past few weeks to disconnected salesmen.
- "Better than thou" attitudes from some salesmen.. I get the feeling they want me to feel like it's a privilege to buy an M3 at (or above) MSRP from their dealership.. this is Texas, I thought we were all a little more humble here

That being said... I've seen a few dealers on the boards here that are based in SoCal etc offering good deals on in-stock M3s, I was wondering if there are any dealerships/salesmen in the area (heck I don't mind calling up Austin, Houston, OKC, or Louisiana for that matter) that are a little more humble and grounded in reality.

I'm wondering where my fellow Texans have ordered/bought their M3s and who is the most highly recommended in the area?

When I was in the process of ordering my vehicle I dealt with 2 Louisiana dealers ... Orr BMW in Shreveport - John Williams and Walker BMW in Alexandria - Mike Bruce. Both guys were excellent in dealing with and I basically was trying to see who could get me the car first ... John got the car first so bought it from him. Neither offered a discount since it was their first delivery but excellent transaction and very smooth with no hidden agendas - I recommend them both strongly. I had the same situation with a few dealers in the Houston area ... arrogant and not helpful at all. If you contact John tell him the guy from Houston who purchased Blk/Blk coupe and he'll know me.

I've forgotten the name already, it was only a phone conversation unfortunately . Do you have any recommendations @ Autobahn?

On a side note, I just got back from test driving the IS-F @ Park Place in Grapevine, and that car is also a beast, but I had a _lot_ more fun in the M3 (6MT, naturally. Debating the DCT).

i'm in your same situation. although when i went to park place lexus to look at the isF they didn't offer a test drive (said the demo car was out....). i did sit in one though, and the options the car offers is disappointing at best. the pearl white carbon interior is UGLY.

let me know who you deal with. i've only talked to dallas bmw so far, and he said if i ordered the sedan with DCT it wouldn't be here until november. they did say its going for sticker, but i'm not going to pay more then 60 for the way i want it optioned out (about 3k off msrp).

+100.. The IS-F has a great engine note, and the GPS etc are definitely more usable than iDrive... but that interior carbon/aluminum white trim looks like some cheap glitzy sparkly crap you find in a children's jewelry kit . That being said, it offers a lot of bang for the buck, and I wouldn't fault anyone for buying the car. The dealer I talked to was open to bringing down the cost, I got the feeling I could negotiate down around $1-1.5k which would bring the cost before TTL around $59k Definitely not the car for me though.

BMW of Dallas is filled with assholes. When I return to BMW for an E92 M3 in the spring of 2010, they won't get my business unless they throw in a fucking steak dinner and massage.

hey addy, can you pm me your contact at mortiz? i'm in the market for one, and dallas BMW doesn't seem to care. i've left 2 messages on two different sales peoples voice mails and haven't gotten called back. both times were during regular working hours and they didn't pick up. i've even sent an email with questions and that was responded with, "give me a call and we can talk", which i promptly did and got to talk to the voice mail.

whats funny is they treated us very well when we went in when we first looked at one.

I was at Classic about a week ago and I counted 11 M3's on their lot. 6 on the side in the parking lot, 4 inside the showroom and the red Sedan with DCT out front. (The MR DCT was their demo car. I got to test drive it. )

Moritz has a ton of M3's, Abahn also. I know moritx will work a deal on them, they want to sell them. I wasn't even there looking at them and my guy over there was like great time to get a deal on a M3, haha
