OS X Lion
Anyone get it yet? I just installed it so still too new for a critique but, the reverse scrolling will take some getting used to. Not sure why they did this.

Yeah I have it. You can turn the reverse scrolling off. System Preferences>Trackpad>Scroll & Zoom>Scroll directionff
The new mission control will take some getting used to - I am so used to spaces. I like the flipping through pages though, mine only works when I hold down the option button so I will have to figure that out. |

I downloaded it too. First thing I did was switch the up and down scrolling to normal. The rest will need getting used to, but I dont see any cool changes that I will be using often.

I just upgraded the entire office, changed all scrolling back to normal.
So far it looks pretty awesome. No complaints.. I like the "read it later" tab on safari. |

not sure if I should get lion now or wait to buy new macbooks once they get upgrade(probably later this year, or early next)
Right now I have a 2.4 ghz core 2 duo macbook that is 4 years old. My trackpad is not even mult-touch, it has a big button xD.

upgraded my work computer today and the laptop last night...
reverse scrolling is fucking retarded. turned it off. noticed some weirdness. Connecting from one to another over AFP crashes AFP on the server side. Reproducible on both ends every time. mouse pointer jumps to another side of the screen about every 20 minutes or so. i am yet to figure out what triggers that. two finger swipe back/forward does not work in Chrome. New Chrome build is coming in a couple of days to fix that. if you used spaces with keyboard shortcuts (^1, ^2, ^3 and so on), you now have to manually enable/add them mission control is sort of useless. i dont know, maybe im expecting too much from it not all apps support full screen. to be precise you can make all of them full screen, but you cant exit from it! haha my web designer friend did not listen to my advice and upgraded his main box to lion. CS5 is completely fucked for him now. he can't get anything done. lol another friend was crying that vector background images are now missing. fucking show-stopper. love new founder, but still installed totalfinder on top of it. new mail is pretty nice. i like. calendar and address book look like shit. i hope someone makes a theme for that shit.

So far everything works but a few final cut pro plugins. Also anyone use launchpad? I feel like its an extra unnecessary step.
I do however love the new mail, facetime, ichat. Overall it's pretty good but not that big of an update. |

I'm upgrading my HTPC MBP as I post but I'm afraid to upgrade my main MBP as I hear a lot of people complaining about the new expose/mission control. Also, are the gestures changed? I have multiclutch installed and if I couldn't program the gestures again surfing would be a pain

It is. Application folder in the Dock seems more usable. I do not like how LaunchPad splits your apps into 2 pages. Page 1 Apple apps and Page 2 is whatever you installed. With Application folder shortcut in the Dock you get access to all of the apps from the same page....

Yeah it's been great, safari is way more stable now and seems faster.
Some great tips here. Especially how to save your signature digitally using a PDF. http://techcrunch.com/2011/07/21/os-...-new-features/

Oh yeah... Stupidest change ever - Hidden ~/Library folder.
Had to Command+Shift+. and drag it into the sidebar so it always shows up. or this in the terminal: Code:
chflags nohidden ~/Library

List of immediately noticeable interface regressions:
1. Dashboard backround is hideous, it looks like a fucking lego base piece. The shaded transparency they used to have was much better. Also, mouse clicks no longer exit dashboard. 2. The login screen is fugly. 3. Circular user icons look stupid. 4. Reverse scrolling is stupid and shouldn't be the default. 5. The scroll bars look terrible. Literally like the scroll bars in TWM (the default X11 window manager). 6. The progress bars on file copies look bad, they remind me of GNOME. 7. Don't like the full screen application icon in the upper right of windows. That's all for now. |

+1, maybe i just have to get used to it though. i keep getting the feeling that future apple OSs are just going to end up looking like iOS. Windows 8 doesn't look too promising either, all the available info about it makes it look like a slightly more advanced windows phone.
