$695 to Install Eibachs, Bumpstops, Shave Mounts, and Perform Alignment sound right?
I have been quoted 6 hours (@ $95/hr) to install Eibach springs and E36 M3 bumpstops along with shaving my front guide supports, which totals $570. The alignment is an additional $125. This brings the grand total to $695.
Does this sound accurate? |

Alignment sounds about right, and I guess they are figuring 4 hours for springs and 2 hrs for shaving the guide supports.
It's a little high, and I think the guide supports should be less actual time than that, unless they are building a jig, etc. I suspect they are double charging you for R&R of the guide supports, since they have to come off to install springs anyway. (lots of people do e90 springs by compressing the spring on the car and leaving the guide support on, but I am not comfortable doing that.) If you trust the shop and plan to return, you could pay that, but you may want to shop around. I don't have any specific recommendations in Houston, but if I, a total hack garage mechanic, can do it in 2 hours, I would expect a shop to do it faster. |

Seems like a decent price.
How are they going to shave the mounts?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

3-4 hrs for springs and bumpstops seems reasonable...6 hrs doesnt seem completely unreasonable if they shave guide supports since this is a unusual request.
My installer quoted me 420.00 for installing you have except no shaving of guide support but I do have camber plates....120.00 for alignment. |

My local indie in the UK charges £285 ($470 USD) for fitting and alignment with an extra £50 ($80)for shaving existing guide supports or £190 ($300 USD) for new ones. E36 Bump stops are £30 ($48 USD)

If its a good shop, and you fully trust their work, then paying a bit more is fine.
I think they are about $100 off what most shops would charge.

I will be purchasing semi used Eibach and will be having Malek install it and he will provide me with the e36 bumpstop and he will be shaving my hat everything for 450. so to the OP 695 is a pretty good price with an alignment.
