I edited my post above. I spoke to the previous owner and the damage to the wheels was caused by pebbles getting stuck between the barrel and the caliper. While it's not directly the brakes or wheels at fault, it's still good information IMO because it's obviously a tight fit and similar damage is possible.

This is another issue that I've considered, good to know that it does happen in reality.

They do indeed clear the TE37SL!

Just curious if anyone has anything to add to this thread? It's been a while since anybody added to it. Going to need new front brakes soon and might just go ahead and get a big brake kit since new OEM parts are $1k anyway

Any ideas which BBKs and rotor sizes would fit with 19" BBS CH-Rs?

Well...I've been told that the APEX ARC8 17x9.5 et35 will clear a Stoptech 355mm BBK with a spacer. I'm going to use this wheel square with 12mm spacers on both axles. On my E46 M3, I'm about to install the ST 355/4pot BBK. I may do the same on the front of my E90 M3 in the future as well.

Why? Well...275/40R17 NT01s are abour $200 cheaper per set vs 275/35R18s. I can keep one set of track wheels and tires for both cars.

Great thread.

From the limited research and feedback had from AP directly and members here is that the AP Racing 368mm fronts will clear the front 260Ms (18x8.5 ET29) but require spacers with the front 219Ms (18x8.5 ET29).

Rear AP kit no issue with either 260M or 219M.

Brembo GT 380mm fronts barely clear... you can't even put a piece of paper between the caliper and the spokes but it somehow clears without scratching.. I put a 3mm spacer on just in case

rears are fine 19" Rear 10.5, +20mm offset

Advan RS-D Front 19", 9.0, +22mm offset
Brembo GT 380mm fronts, top caliper bolts rubs against rim barrel and needs to be shaved down a couple of mm.. caliper face is fine however and no spacer is needed.

rears are fine 19", 10.0, +20mm offset

Klammer,

If so, i just found my new rim + bbk package right there.

Can anyone confirm this ?
It can be my lucky day, I've found Alcon Superkit at bargain price, and probably 18" wheels which clear Alcon calipers.
By the way, has anyone ordered Alcon BBK from this website : http:/http://www.jdl-brakes.com/alco...mw-m3-e92.html

Yes, a couple of people here have ordered from JDL brakes, BUT to be honest contact Vivid Racing, cheaper price than JDL.

Perhaps, although the price I was quoted from Vivid was less than what JDL had on their website.

I recently test fit my OEM 18" 260M wheels with the above listed brakes

18x8.5 et29 front wheels cleared the 380mm front brakes with 12mm spacer. 10mm may have been sufficient but I did not have one.

18x9.5 et23 rear wheels cleared the 380mm front brakes without the need for a spacer.

These wheels (and the "new" spec ET18 & ET22) DO NOT FIT the US Brembo 380mm GT kit.

The rear caliper mounting bolts hit the barrel.
I always said, that there is only an issue on rear US spec 380mm Brembos.
The rim nicely clears the caliper, only the rear US spec bolts stick out too far.
For that reason Brembo USA uses already shaved bolts - see red circled areas of a US 380mm Brembo kit:

Options are to shave off the bolts a little more, which is no big deal or use custom bolts.

OK, to make it clear. These rims are customized for M3 GTS. They clear without any mods. For US spec brembos custom rear bolts are required, for Brembo GTR custom rear brackets are required. All no Big Deal ;-)

Apex ARC8 17x10 et25 wheels clear Stoptect ST40/355mm BBKs. You can also go 17x9.5 et35 with a 5-12mm spacer. You should use a hub extender with a 5mm spacer.

I went with a 17x9.5 so I can use these wheels on my E90 and also run a 255/40R17 on my E46 M3 with the same wheels. One set of track wheels...2 cars.

I'm looking to get a bbk soon I guess in a few months. Just curious if my rims would clear them? I'm looking to get either brembo or stop tech 6piston front 4piston rear but I don't track my car so would it be a waste??

HRE P43SC FRONT 19x9 ET 22 REAR 19x10.5 ET 27

Thanks

if you dont track your car you wont exceed the limit of the stock system and a bbk is a waste.

Κερκυραίε μου,

if you think looks is worth many thousands of dollars, go for it. I really like how mine look, but i wouldn't have bought them if I weren't tracking my car. The extra safety margin at the track is worth it though. Especially after 2 pedal to the metal incidents.
