Aw E92 - To Tint Or Not To Tint????
Well I'm struggling whether or not to get the car tinted. All of my cars in the past have been tinted, but when I saw my AW coupe over black I thought the car looked better without tints. The thing is I live in South FLorida and kind of like the privacy of people not being able to look in the car as well as the protection of the sun/heat. I have an appt for saturday if I would like to get tints at one of the best shops down here (Solar Seal in Hollywood).
What are people's opinions and what is the best brand and recommended %? Thanks! |

If you don't like the black tint look, try Huper Optik ceramic tint. It has a more grey color to it. I have it on my Sparkling Graphite 325i and it matches the car very well. Ceramic tint has better heat rejection than metal tint films, too.

Most M3 owners go with ceramic tint anyways because of CA and Navi.

I do know about the heat, trust me. I hate it. However, my car is a garage queen and is not a daily driver so ruining the leather is not an issue. I drive an Xterra to work everyday. My reasons for the tint are mainly so people can't look in the car.

OK here's my perspective. Before I actually picked up the car i intended to tint. Had an appointment setup and all. However in my opinion the level of tint the car already comes with, standard IS SUFFICIENT FOR ME. Granted i am a rather conservative dude, i don't sell dope, drag race and i don't like the movies Need for Speed 2 or 3 (j/k). Finally, I live in Washington DC. Excessive sun is not an issue. BUT damn the tint does looks so nice and if i lived in FLA or CALI i would get it for leather protection. One last note....YOU have the sickest car out there right now. Everyone wants to see the face of the man who drives this piece of art. Why deny them that right

Bro, that Florida sun is insane!! Everyone has their cars tinted in FL!! Even if you have it @ the beach a couple times a month, and drive it around. It's sunny all year. You NEED to tint that MFr!

A darker shade only helps the look and helps protect the interior. That will NEVER be "played out."
35% is perfect and is ALWAYS better than standard, on any car, IMO.

i think tints make any car look better. Ive had tints on every car that i've ever owned, driving one without them makes me feel like i'm in a fish bowl. I've got 5% all around on my current ride, probably will lighten up a bit and do 15% on the M- got an appointment on the 20th to get it done.

I am afraid tinting will affect my delicate CA or the AM radio as it did in my e46 M3. I also like to see my Fox Red interior from the outside. Probably will not tint this car.

Its such a hot interior, why would you hide it?
But on the other hand, I live in Belgium and the weather sucks here bigtime. You on the other hand live in Miami, and its pretty cool having tinted windows where the suns always shines... So ,it's up to you. Im not gonne tint mine |
