Sirius changes

Has anyone else noticed the audio quality of Sirius has gotten a lot worse since they made all of those big changes last week? Everything now sounds very tinny and over compressed, like very low bitrate MP3s. So much for "CD quality" music, as both XM and Sirius have claimed. So far I'm really disappointed with satellite radio as a whole, and I don't see that it will be worth paying for once my free year is up.

Bastards just took off the only channel I liked. 95% of the time I listened to the Punk channel on Sirius now it's gone and I don't really care for any other channels. The reggae channel is only good half the time, and I occasionally hear a song I like on Faction. But not worth paying for anymore in my opinion.

I never thought the sound was that great to begin with but also never had a problem with it.

No, it is not you alone... the bass in dance music is simply gone as well.

+1000 Sirius is a SCAM! It was good with my old car, till I get the E92 M3. Now I rather listen to FM.

I think BPM has better music. They actually tell you who made the remix versus just playing the song. I really haven't noticed a changed in the audio.

I haven't noticed a change in quality, but then I don't listen to music on Sirius much, mostly talk. I use the CD for better quality music. I have noticed that the radio the past few days has been having a hard time holding on to the signal. I hope they fix this soon.

BTW, they have the capability to alter the quality of each channel separately. Talk is generally more compression, less quality and music is generally more quality, less compression. Now with more channels from XM I can certainly believe that some music quality has been degraded. They only have so much bandwidth on the satellites.

It seems to me that the audio quality improved considerably since I posted my last comment...

I'll let the subscription go once the year is up. HD XM sounds way better IMO. And why can't they show the song that is currently playing before you actually get in to the channel? It takes tooooo long to scroll through! Do you guys agree or am i missing something obvious?

I haven't noticed a difference in the sound quality. My favorite channels are still there: Octane 20, Faction 28, Howard 100 & 101.
