Rogue Engineering spacers - works of art

These things are so nice I hate to hide them behind wheels! Maybe I'll mount them on the outside! I got four 12mm spacers + bolts from RE today. I had considered the Macht Schnell ones, but I like the more aggressive cutout on these, the addition of a pry slot on the backside, and the fact they are US-made. Just for reference I compared them to a 10mm H&R Trak+ spacer I had left from my E46 spare. In terms of finish and weight, the RE's kick butt! I know 4 oz/wheel will make no difference, but I still appreciate fine things.

12mm RE - 9.4 oz.
10mm H&R - 12.0 oz. (by extrapolation, 12mm ~ 14 oz.)

It's raining like heck out tonight, so I'll install and post photos tomorrow.

I know, but 1/4 lb is 1/4 lb (unless it's an outside rim 1/4 lb)! I love German products, but if we can get the same or better in a US product, so much the better for our economy and the environment (shipping from Germany)!

I know i agree with you. I love RE products and buying US made products is great(except for most of our cars). You have helped the market jump a few points

Greg, I'm with you. I like the Rogue spacers, pulleys, SSK etc. I can't wait to hear the exhaust they have planned for our cars!

Very nice...i'm considering 15/12 for front and rear. Seems to work nicely. Post pics. Did you pay extra for the black extended lugs?

Interesting.

When did they start machining out the slots? I'm pretty sure I have a two or three year old set of Rogues with large round holes for weight reduction.

I completely agree with Greg.
My 15 & 12mm spacers and black bolts arrived from Rogue on Friday and were installed Saturday. I couldn't be happier with them.

RE makes some quality prodructs! Ben and the guys at RE are true enthusiasts and don't skimp on quality.

Yep, I had some put on my car (15mm f, 12mm r) and Ben had just brought them from the machine shop. In fact I was waiting at their shop for him to get back so they could go on.

mmmmmm, spacers fresh from the oven

The RE 15/12 Combo is how the car should have came from the factory as far as stance. Someone told me the other night that my car looked like a pitbull waiting to attack. Hahaha

15/12 combo is the best setup. I will have to get a set of RE.

I went 12/12 to maintain the factory F?R track balance. IMO, the front fenders should overhang a little to look right. Pushing the front wheels out too much reminds me of a lot of picups I see with tires sticking out of the body.

The other thing is 15 mm starts to go beyond my confort range for spacer thickness. On the other hand, the 1/8" difference between the two is minimal.

Pardon my ignorance, but doing spacers is something I've wanted to do for a while and I just don't have enough knowledge about.

Three questions;
1. If I were to do spacers on a non lowered car, will it damage or potentially reduce the longevity of anything mechanical (suspension, tie rods, ect..) on my car?

2. Will it change the dynamics of the cars handling?

3. What is the best set up? Some here say 15f/12r and others say 12f/12r

Please help!

Thanks!!

1 & 2. Differences will be very minimal. There could be some shortening of wheel bearing life, but again, minimal.
3. Who are you asking? Like with anything, there will be a diversion of opinions. You are talking about only 1/8" difference per side between 12s & 15s, so it's not dramatic. Look at the various photos posted in various threads of both setups and make up your own mind.

Great thread Greg. I am very interested in these spacers and would love to see photos of them on your car. Also, what do you use as an antiseizing (sp?) compound? I have never put spacers on but would like to do this right.

Thanks,
Carl
