Just ordered 245's Alpin's from Tire Rack. I'm probably sure they have 265's.

I picked up a set of sotto zeros from jam rims in 255/35/18 and they fit well on my E92.

If you are from Canada, I think this is one of the best tire you can use here:
hakkapeliitta 8 studded I used to have a set of Michelin alpin pa4 on the 18's. got Got stuck 3 times in snow. Those Hakk 8 are super awesome |

I used 235 40R18 and 255 40R18 Dunlop Wintersport 3Ds on OEM Style 219M rims. It's better to go a little narrower for winters.

+1 for sam0329, depending on the severity of winters, Nokian tires is the BEST of the best in terms of snow, ice, and overall winter driving. I will personally not go with studded unless you frequently experence deep snow/slush/super iced up roads. I have the Nokian hakkapeliitta R2 245/40/18 square setup on OEM 219M wheels previously (tires now sold since i barely drive my E90 M3 during winter anyways). They performed very very well.
Hope you find the right tire for you ride, but ya, go with a square setup or as the aboved says, downsize you tires to 235/40 and 255/40. Cheers!

Thanks Kaede,
I do have a set of Nokian hakkapeliitta R2 on my wife 's mini van and Hakka 8 Studded on my M3. In Edmonton Alberta here we do have to drive through deep snow from time to time especially newly developed areas. I used to owned Pilot Alpin PA3, Blizzak W70, Dunlop Wintersport 3D, X-ice. Those Nokians are the best. I actually canceled my AMA membership because I never got stuck again lol. My father in law never believe in winter tires. After he drove the Hakka R2, hes a believer now. Just saying For my M3 I have 245/40/18 because Kal Tire do not have the 235s in stock when I brought mind. |
