Advise needed on Motul RBF 600 brake fluid
Hi Guys! I'm about to upgrade my brake lines to Stop Tech's SS Brake Lines and at the same time switch to Motul RBF 600 brake fluid for occasional track days. But my BMW service advisor warned me that once I change my brake fluids, it will void my warranty. My M3 E92 is just 4 months old and I don't want to risk voiding my 2 year unlimited mileage warranty. Can anyone who has upgraded their brake fluids to Motul RBF600 chime in their thoughts on this issue? Did your local BMW dealer tell you the same thing? Will they be able to detect if someone has indeed replaced their brake fluids to a different brand?

My dealer installed Motul 600. Was not an issue.

My SA specifically asked if I wanted a brake fluid flush when time was due because he knows that I have been using Ate Gold for track days and might not want 'lower spec' brake fluid in the system.

Agreed. They won't be able to tell the difference in brake fluids after a little use. Do you know if they void your warranty if you install the SS brake lines? if so, I would just go with the fluid and skip the SS brake lines - which they would be able to identify without question. Also, you now know you have a dealer that is warranty void happy. Do not consult with them on mods - other than bmw performance parts. Good luck!

Thanks for your inputs guys! Anyone felt any immediate improvement of Motul RBF 600 over stock brake fluid? Is there any noticeable difference in braking power or brake pedal feel? I hope guys who have used Motul RBF 600 would chime in. Thanks in advance!

I used this on my old 03 Cobra, didn't really notice much difference. I think you'd need to really be tracking the car a lot or have had used really cheap fluid to tell the difference. I have a few fresh unopened bottles left in case you want them. I ordered a case thinking i was going to keep the car around until it started showing its old Ford quality.

better fluid will definitely help with bake fade. now you may or may not need it. i didnt have much brake fade with 20 min sessions but when i moved up to 30min sessions, brake fade was a huge problem. i changed my fluid and installed SS lines and it helped a lot.
my SA knows that i have aftermarket fluid and line on my car but didnt give me any problems at all. i just changed my rotors and pads under warranty. when i go on to the track, i use Hawk HP+ pads so they eat through rotors even more quickly but i still didnt have any warranty issues.

If you're going to spend the money on Motul, you might as well get Castrol SRF. It has a considerably higher wet boiling point, which is the important number to look at.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

If you won't be tracking your car much, just don't bother with the fluid change. You won't really won't notice enough difference in daily driving to make it worth it. Just go a bit easier on your brakes on track day. People typically upgrade their brake fluid when they spend a lot of time on the track and they want to avoid brake fade.
