Does the Akrapovic slip on pass visual smog in CA?

Guessing it won't, but wanted to see before I look at buying one.

On my old Honda I had a Mugen cat back and it didn't pass visual ... but that was ages ago haha. Not sure if anything has changed since then.

Nothing changed. You just went to an idiot smog place, unless you had an intake on that Honda.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Yeah you should be fine. The problem you are running into is that shops don't wanna worry about being liable for knowing what's legal and what's not.

Sounds good fellas ... time to go shopping. Swapping out the x pipe for smog may not even be that bad.

Any axle back will pass. An x-pipe won't and will need to be switched out to pass at any honest smog location.

Axle back has nothing to do with emissions and you could play dumb and say it's the M performance exhaust that you ordered with the car. You'll be fine.

Very simple on these models.

The Akras are even priced if you choose the Slip-on version now and device upon the X-pipe later, the cost is the same as purchasing the EVO system.
