Euro Front Plates in NEW YORK...Anyone try it?

I recently posted a thread about not wanting to put holes in my front bumper... someone told me to use 2 sided 3M tape when my permanent plates arrive.... With that solved, now im wondering if i could get away with ordering a custom Euro plate with the same exact letters as a custom NY plate i will have and mount that in the front with 2-sided tape. I can get it the same exact colors as the NY plate from here and would prefer it instead of the NY plate.

http://www.customeuropeanplates.com/...FUff4AodjigAxA

Anyone in NY or any other state that requires front plates have any experience with rocking a Euro plate on the front i/o the state plate? I'm REALLY trying to stay away from tickets. Both Parking and being pulled over and these NY cops/parking cops are really bored these days. Looking forward to some helpful feedback.

Have a friend who did that to his Mini in California and had no issues (he kept the same CA license plate numbers on the front euro license plate). Thinking of having the same thing for my car. Nothing looks worse than a standard US state license plate on the front of an M3

Yeah that BK MARK dude... his plate is his name so its kinda corny. I actually have a funny ass license plate i'll be ordering so it'll be alright. And i don't intend on putting an ///M frame which is mad over-kill in my opinion. I'll be ordering these euro's as soon as my permanent NY plate arrives and i get to order my custom ones. Will post pics in a few weeks!

I did this (in CA) got a ticket for front plates. Cop saw me coming from the opposite direction... made a U and pulled me over. He said it has to be state issued plates.
I think its better to not put anything on at all. Putting fake Euro one on will only attract more attention.

Does anyone think that putting no plates, but keeping the corner windshield "dealer sticker" with thetemp registration is a better idea vs. Euro plates (from front will look like it's a new car)?

I ran a Euro plate for a while since I hated the look of the standard plate and didn't want to get the bumper refinished right away (wait for something to happen to warrant a fix). Cops never gave me a hard time for it here in Cali.

Having lived in NYC for 30+ yrs on the other hand... it seems like anyone with a badge can write you up for anything. Meter maids will leave no/invalid plate tickets, expired registration, etc... on your window every day.

Just get one of the many tow hook brackets that are available and run the standard plate.

Definitely... I don't think the rest of the US understand how bad it is out here with them meter maids. I may have to stick to the original NY plates with double sided 3M tape Idea. I don't like the off-center look with the tow-hook option. Blahhhhh
