Bumper Reflecter Delete & Smoked Tails ***PICS***

Some of the local Toronto members already know, another member (Jaypod) and myself have opted to have our reflectors removed from our front bumpers. I am also having a few other things done, including having the turn signal portion of my taillights smoked slightly. I have always had them this way, however I was using a 20% tint, which over the winter has begun to peel. So I figured it was time for a permanent fix. Here are the pics so far, installed pics will be uploaded tomorrow afternoon.

The reason my wheels are off is because the calipers are being painted white tomorrow morning, with the addition of the ///M Sticker and then clearcoat. I will post pics tomorrow of that as well. Lastly, my center console will be wrapped in carbon leather tomorrow as well. Can't wait to put it all back together!

Enjoy!

Nope, they won't...because with my 20's in the summer - they're super easy to clean and I will clean them 1-2 times per week so it will never build up!
Also, I see no other option...I was planning on doing red, but I can't do a "Brembo" or "Porsche" red because it would clash with my interior (fox red). So I'm left with black/white pretty much.

sweet! i may consider painting my calipers in the future. I was at my local bodyshop today and the owner told me he would smoke the headlights as he's done it on several cars and they came out perfect. Only thing is if i ever wanted to go back to stock i would need a whole new headlight assembly i believe

Dont do that to the headlights, If u dont like it ur screwed. Im having a guy take mine apart and do some custom work. Let me know if ur interested. I mean u can be screwd this way as well. But its a different story to have interior work done then to just tint the outside

No matter what you do, the polyurethane your shop uses will contract over time and reveal the reflector hole lines you tried to hide. I've seen it on every bumper that has done this mod, E92 or E46. It'll be faint but definitely there. This is the only reason I went with a Euro bumper.

+1

Tthis happened to me and you could just barely see it if you knew where to look. But I subsequently molded the Vorsteiner lip and when they repainted the the whole front bumper it took care of the problem. Now it's been quite a while and you can't see where the reflectors were at all. It seems after the first time it shrinks and settles (or whatever it does) you can repaint it and it stays perfect.

I guess time will tell, having said that I can have this done 4-5 times for the cost of a Euro bumper and I will have a freshly painted stone chip free bumper every time - so not much of a trade off in my opinion.

Yeah a pretty good deal - for some reason i thought the Euro Bumper Painted ran about $1500 US - plus duty and exchange for us Canadians - which would be over $2K cdn - maybe I am wrong - but figure I can do it at least a few times

In that case I can get my bumper done quite a bit once you consider the currency exchange!! They do really good work there too!

Cant wait to see it on the car! The bonus for me was I was getting my bumper fixed as someone damaged it - so for me the reflector delete was pretty much free as the original place I went to wanted more just to fix and repaint!

It's been 6 month since my bumper was done and I have 0 problems with it ... You can't see where the old reflectors were ... You just need to take it to a good shop and then you will be fine ... It took them about 2 weeks to do my bumper the "Right Way" ...

Depends who and how they do the work, Ive had similiar stuff done by this body shop and never had a problem with it showing over time.

If the Euro bumper is $2000 us, thats like $2600 plus duties, so i can paint my bumper at least 6 times for the same price, and I plan to repaint my bumper every spring.
