Made a mistake and drove a stage III b5 S4...
I know, know.... does not compare to the M3's handling, sound, looks, etc.... but boy does it PULL. 1st, and 3rd are brutal... Had 4 of them in the past 10 years but totally forgot how big of a beast they are in stage 3 form (well sorted out). Awesome straight line performer! I wonder how a Supercharged M3 will do against one...

modified S4s are crazy fast, but you can make any car with an aftermarket turbo faster than a stock M3...
Hell, I've seen Neon SRT4s run crazy times, but I wouldn't be caught dead in one.... |

If mad pull and straightline speed over a short low gear distance is your thing then why not get a blown big block 67 Camaro or something? It always fascinates me that people want to compare an M3 (or any other track purpose car) to a drag car. The M3 might pull down some respectable times at a quarter mile strip but it's not a drag car. I mean, do people just want to 'show up' someone else's car from 1st to 3rd gear? If I wanted to do that, I would have invested my M3 money in that Camaro I mentioned earlier and saved a bunch of money probably and it would sound a lot better too! |

B5 S4 is nothing special IMO.
If I ever win the lottery, one car in my ideal garage will be a mid-80s Audi Sport Quattro modified by Dahlback. They exist in various states of tune, but the top dogs can get 900-1200 BHP using internals from Audi's winning IMSA racers from the early 90s. How's this for sheer fun, sound and fury?

Car looks like a ton of fun, but is that because it looks like it's got the shortest wheelbase ever. That is some serious overhang

If I end up buying this one I'll let you know since I am pretty close. I just want it as a DD to toy around with. I would love a ride in a SC M3...always been curious to see for myself how it pulls.

Everytime I think of people who just want straight line speed, why not just get a 94 mustang with drag radials, or a Buick Grand National, or a SRT4 or a Gram AM, or Firebird, oh wait, you wouldn't want to be caught dead in one... |

Yes, a definitive bottom-feeder from Chrysler, but as a track car, an absolute gem. Bulletproof, as well. Never had a problem with it, of any kind. Pissed off dozens of M3 guys, I can tell you. I know the feeling, having been definitively dispatched on track by a '97 ACR Neon in my '95 M3 way back when. Oh, the shame! Bruce |
