Do ya think that maybe, just maybe, you bought a performance car that thus has performance parts that might be more focused on performance then luxury?

There are more stupid threads than normal good threads around here........boy this place has really gone to sh*t fast.....I don't mean to sound like a complete dick (though I know I do) but BMW monitors forums and consumer polls in general and the more of these threads they see the more they think they need to water down the ///M line and be more concerned with cup holders, squeaky breaks and easy to drive torquey cars rather than performance focused cars.

Cheers,

There is absolutely nothing you can do.
+1 The only time I hear the squeak is when I'm gently coming to a stop, usually at less than 20 mph. BMW and I consider this as normal.

You consider this normal? I had around 15 cars, all makes and models, including BMW and there was NEVER any brake squel. This is aN EMBARRASING defect in the M3.

the brakes on the M3 is designed to squeak as they're high performance. Especially when it's cold out, it'll squeak.

I'm sure a 335 owner out there is more than willing to swap brakes with you.

Fun... :/

I'm assuming I'm not the only one right?
My 09 M3 brakes used to squeak/squeal just before coming to a stop and it is totally normal. I only put 500KM on my 2011 M3 before installing the Brembo GT BBK so I can't say I heard the 2011 brakes squeal/squeak. One nice thing about the Brembo BBK is that it is totally quiet, no squealing or squeaking at all in the ~20000KM I put on them so far.

Why not a Float-Plane to go fly in fishing:

I just found this thread after I took my '08 in for regular service and for the squeaky brakes. The guy at the dealer said it was probably some lubricant issue... BUT I picked up the car today and apparently a bulletin was sent out to the dealers to replace the brake pads with a slightly new design (no details given) that's better on the noise-front.

I'm just stoked I got replacement pads under the warranty when I only have 5k miles left ;-). If anyone else's brakes are squeaking I would say it's worth a shot at getting some new ones by just heading to the dealer! :-)

Mine dont squeak. In my previous car (2006 e90 330i) the brakes did squeak really loud.
Thanks for the info rockitman07, in case mine squeak in the future. Do you have the bulletin number?
