What are the trim options on the new M3?

I hate the leather CF trim, and aluminum looks kinda cheap. Any pics of the other trims?

Yeah, why can't the US have any of the cool options like Jade Grey in the e92 or piano black trim.

What I don’t like is the center console doesn’t have a trim, its just plain. I like the carbon fiber but it needs a clear coat on it. I believe you can order the piano black from the dealer. It’s just that it’s reserved for the individual package and that package is not offered to the US specs. Even if you order from Europe, BMW USA don’t want Americans in elope to have it. That’s how bad it is.

Any dash or side view pics (like those in the other threads linked by AK) for the base interior. I think its cloth seating surfaces, with leather bolsters, no?

Not BMW's version, but this is what it (a sycamore) can look like:

Thanks south.

But that looks just like the black Novillo leather. Where's the cloth?

Just as you said: The seating surface in the middle is cloth, the side bolsters are leather (Novillo?).

Best regards, south

EDIT: Here's a RL picture, you can see the cloth:

Thanks for that pic south - that shows the cloth very well.

I am not sure that the configurator pic is even showing cloth. The seating surface still looks like leather to me.

Oh and yes, the bolsters are Novillo leather. The Canadian brochure says "Combination of Black Cloth and Novillo Leather". I wonder if the only difference between these two interiors is the seating surface itself? Or are there are lesser materials use elsewhere in the base interior also, such as the center console and under dash area? Also, I wonder if the headrests are cloth or leather?

Made a quick photo where's cloth IMHO. The grey sections are cloth, the headrests and the center console are leather.

Best regards, south

Cool, south, I did not even think about the door - you may well be right.

Apparently no cloth interior dealer/owner pics out there yet. I will be anxious to see those. I must say I am really liking this interior.

BTW, OP, sorry for hijacking the thread.

You can be sure all the tuners will have CF trim kits available. ACS already lists their silver carbon.

Back to the trim, I've seen all the trims now at the BMW event in Germany a couple of weeks ago.

I'm not a fan of the wood trim (a requirement for the american market apparently according to one of BMW's product managers at the event) so didn't really pay much attention to them.

I can say though, that the base trim (titan shadow, I think), is pretty much exactly the same as the titan shadow available for the e46 m3. So that means nasty creaky trim that will probably blister in the sunshine, so avoid at all costs !

The aluminium trim you've seen in all the other models, and just looked the same. And the carbon leather trim was first seen in the Z4M and again looked the same.

For me at least, I think the Carbon with extended leather (in black) looked good together.

Also, the center console although is not in the trim ... is still covered in leather (or at least material that looks like leather, as it had a slight grain in it).

Oh, the piano black looked nice, but as already discussed we simply dont know if BMW USA will offer that as of yet.
