Im not old but I was in your shoes about 6 months ago. I;ve had Magnaflow exhuast systems on my last three vehicles. 06 Silverado SS truck, 08 Charger SRT8, and them my 09 M3. I finally had enough of the drone also and all the rattling that goes on inside. So I decided to take off my Magnaflow system on my M3 and go with the OEM Exhasut Mod that everyone is doing. I honesly love the sound of the Exhaust Mod. ITs quiet when you want but once you hit the gas, sounds amazing... I'm very happy with it. Doubt it gives you any HP gain or save weight but no drone, no rattle, just good sounding exhaust....

I love a nice race exhaust, the Eisenmann Race was perfection except for the drone which I just couldn't tolerate. Even the AA Signature with noise cancelation chambers had some annoying drone at low rpm's. I had to break my jones for Race exhausts and am happy with the M Performance nowadays.
You should look into the Corsa, angled tips, no drone and sounds great. |

The Remus sport is definitely more tame and a solid option without giving up too much of the sound. Plus, you are already familiar with the quality of their product.

+1! I have the same and I always get a ton of compliments on it! At the last track event there were a bunch of guys with other types of exhaust (akra, Eiseman, Gintani, M-performance) and they all started talking about selling their exhaust and switching to the OEM mod after hearing mine.

The exhaust is not 304 stainless steel so it is prone to rusting. Anyone can test it by taking a magnet to the tips. If there is pull, it is not pure 304 SS. My exhaust got a slight coating of rust that I had to scrape off. I tried to email Remus but got no response. It is really a pity because the exhaust is aesthetically beautiful. |

Mine does not drone...
There are two ways -one where you replace the large perforated section internally with straight pipe (or both sections of perforations with straight) -an "ACM" method which drones and is louder the better way IMO is the way I did it, the 1st way described above (search periokid on the forum) |

Wouldn't mind the Eisenmann sport but don't like the droopy cans. Not as bad as stock, but still no remus in the looks department. How is the E36 coming along?

I'm also running a Corsa exhaust. Lack of drone was very important to me. Corsa definitely did the trick. Sounds great and does not drone. I just drove the car 800 miles to NC and back and it was never a problem for me.
