Maria Sharapova is pretty tall, she'd be 2m tall in those heels. The Macan isn't very big either, where I live (close to the Atlantic Highway in Norway) they do a lot of photos for publicity material, there was a couple of Macans being photographed a few weeks back, it looks significantly smaller in the bare metal than the Audi Q5.

I like this shade of blue! Very Attractive and the color works for the Macan.

I just watch the video of how the designers came about to planning and fashioning the structure and form of the car. It's quite interesting from the inspiration of the one piece hood, the side blades inspired by the 918 spyder the wide rear arches and the rear lights. Quite interesting!!!

My build $80k for Turbo and $67k for S with equal equipment. Hmm I was hoping for a little more of a price gap or a lower Turbo price. My M3 was $73k msrp and I don't think I want to pay any more than that on a car but also $67k for an S seems silly. I wonder how different they are in terms of speed and driving dynamics.

EDIT: Blah I forgot the roof and some other tiny things for options. I think I'm going to be priced out of the Macan. I'm just not seeing the value. Nearly $16,800 in options for the S, and I was being conservative barely even making it equal to my M3 (except air susp). Maybe I'll wait a year or two for a used one and let depreciation do its work. Right now the SQ5 is looking pretty decent at $20k less than Macan S.

Pcar options are a boner killer.

Will probably wait to test drive both models before placing an order.

Will shoot for the Turbo though.

I was looking at a new RR sport but this thing looks much nicer and better specs. Tough choice.

62k for my macan S of choice.

Eh, not bad. Might go with it.

Damn...my wishlist is going crazy. I want a Macan, F80, and a bike of some sort.

Not bad at all. One of my friends just got a SQ5 that cost more than that. I told him to wait, he didn't listen.

Eh, the SQ5 isn't worth it. Nice car, but not worth it.

My S came out to like 72 and my turbo was 85. Overall a bit on the pricier side but there will be nothing like this at that price point. The cayenne is leagues above ANY other SUV in both driving experience and quality and based on size and weight I'm assuming this will be an even better car to drive than the cayenne. I am hoping they will have a 420-430 hp Macan GTS that weighs under 4000 lbs. That would be something.

I would rather have a Macan for sure. But the SQ5 is actually not bad. It just feels like a lifted S4.

Just talked to my dealer and the earliest US production is March!

So expect late April to May deliveries.

They are getting two Macan S allocations and one Turbo for March production.

Did they mention if they will get demo cars earlier than the standard allocations?

Talked it over with the missus and the Turbo is very likely out for us but we might go for the S as a replacement for my E90 M.

My main reason for wanting the Macan is because I ski and mountain bike regularly which is so much easier with an SUV than a car. I love my M3 but it has limited the activities that I want to do here in the NW, particularly in winter. So now the Macan is the only CUV remotely as performance worthy as the M3 but if I don't want to pay for a Turbo, will the 3.0TT be enough for me? That's probably a question that can't be answered short of reviews and test drives, but who else is in this situation? What do you think?

Since you already have an X1, perhaps waiting to see if SCOTT's hints about an X1M pan out would make sense? At least from my experience, the X1 is a better drive than the Q5, so using that logic, it's possible that the X1M would be better than the Macan S, or at least be a solid alternative at a lower price than the Macan Turbo.

Of course if you're looking for nicer features and some of the comfort options the Macan has, then the X1M will be far behind.

Unfortunately I think the Macan is to heavy to be a compelling replacement for an M3. Maybe Porsche has done magic but 4000 lbs is a lot of physics to overcome. I definately need to drive one first but I feel pretty sure that the F80 will be a better choice for my preferences. It would be nice to not need to swap cars with my wife everytime I go skiing or hiking but it's not a big enough deal to select a car that feel less engaging or feel heavy.

Even if Macan is based on Q5, porsche engineers develop their own suspension for the Macan different from Audi engineers. So ride will be completely different IMO.
