What in the world just happened to my head unit?

Hello all,

A very strange thing just happened: I go put gas in the car, shut it off, pump gas, turn the car back on to leave, and notice that my head unit is completely unresponsive! I cannot change stations, raise or lower the volume, change from entertainment to navi, nothing. The same goes when using the head unit's controls or the steering wheel's controls. I figured I'd wait to get to where I was headed to power cycle the car again so that it would hopefully correct itself...and nothing. I'm hoping that now that I've parked the car and locked it, when I return to it in a couple of hours the problem will have corrected itself.

Has anyone seen this before and know what's going on and/or how to correct it? My car is an 08 with the ccc unit.

Thanks!!

Thanks!

Thanks! The car cranks up without issues or hesitations...but I'll have it checked anyway.

The only time I have had my (CiC) head unit lock up was when I was using my iPhone with a cpu intensive app running (forward facing video and data recording app) and connected to my car with bluetooth. I don't remember the exact sequence of events unfortunately.
