My 6MT E93 with a gutted exhaust is probably the worst DD I have ever owned. Whenever I take off (even just a casual 600-2700 RPM run in traffic it's just too much of a "chore" in bumper to bumper traffic. I have daily driven plenty of MT's and the M3 is by far the worst one.

If you are going with an automatic E90, I think that would be a great DD.

Gas is relatively cheap here, about $3.25 or about 2.95 Euros....

Well I have a dct E93....but I do drive in S5 mode everyday

So true..I would rather sit in traffic for 2 hours in a 6-speed M3 than have a 'spirited' drive home in a 2001 Honda Accord. I look for every excuse possible to drive my Cayman, including to and from work. These are not GT2 cars..they are designed to be daily driven.

I take it you like the Cayman? It's on my list of cars to check out for my next DD. Maybe a Cayman S.

Hey guys a little update. Still no purchase yet but due to some changes in my life I'm now debating between E63 AMG and F10 M5. I have seat time behind the M5 but never driven an E63. Thoughts?

Or I could ditch that idea and get a track build/daily driver kind of thing going on. #e92m3oncoiloversdailydriver

I also have a 6MT e93 and don't see why it's the worst DD. The 6MT in the e9x is very easy to drive and the clutch is light. Unless you're talking about the exhaust being too loud, then that has nothing to do with the M3 being a bad DD.

I would DD mine if my commute was a little shorter. It's a bit more cost effective to rack up the miles on my TL in terms of gas and maintenance than to put all those miles on the M3. Plus it feels nice to get back into the M3 after driving a normal car for a few days, keeps things fresh.

Exhaust too loud. The only want to really have a nice smooth 0-10/15mph is if you absolutely feather the clutch every-single-time. If you don't have exhaust it's not as annoying. Mine is so loud my roof rattles in the low range.

Also I didn't say the M3 is the worst DD (in terms of clutch) out of every car on the road, just out of the 6MT cars I've personally owned.

It really all comes down to personal preference. And all I was really saying was that I think going with the 7spd auto would be better for a DD. Also my last traffic experience was an hour stop and go traffic and 8 miles of it was at decent incline so I HATED it, haha! TLs are GREAT DD's

I think all MT's are terrible daily drivers. But that also depends on where you live. If you have lots of traffic and stop lights, ugh, nuisance.
