Can you please clarify what you would like to know? The weights provided was something that a customer had provided us in the past on another forum, not ourselves. Are you requesting for the weights of the 17x10" ET25 with the 275/40/18 Toyo R888's? We can try to see if we can have that weighed if we still have that wheel and tire in our facility.

17x10 - 18.45 lbs

275/40/17 R888 - 28 lbs

Small pedantic enginerd advantage to the 17's, the tire has by far the biggest impact on inertia of the wheel because its weight is concentrated in the last 3-5" of radius. the taller sidewall means even if they weigh the same in absolute terms, the 17" tire's weight is spread across more of the radius than the 18" tire so it will have less inertia than the 18" setup even if the two wheel/tire combos weigh the same (which they won't unless you're using a Te37 or something else absurdly light)

Richbot, great info for sure !!! So 17s def. will be faster than a 18 even if there the same weight !!!

It's not a big effect but it exists, as I said it's a small advantage and it has to be balances against any advantage gained from, for instance, the shorter and stiffer sidewall of the 18" setup. Never said anything was faster or slower. Stopwatch decides that

I want to use a 315 Mickey Thompson on the rear with the 17 x 10.5 et27....

Unfortunately we do not have any direct experience with anybody using the 315 Mickey Thompsons on our 17x10.5" ET27 ARC-8's on the rear of an e9x M3. While the tires should fit on the wheels, we believe that a heavy amount of fender modification would be needed for the wheels and tires to properly clear the rear fenders without rubbing.

The 315/35-17 et street II specs out almost identical to the Hoosier 315/30-18. No fender mods required to run the Hoosier at all, though et30 would be better.

Thanks for the insight. We haven't experimented with 315 Hoosiers, so we had little basis to go off of. I agree that in theory it should work, and the benefits gained from a drag setup like that would be worth the experiment. Cars running 18's, 19's or even 20's at the strip are missing out on the advantages of a tall sidewall dedicated drag tire on a wide wheel.

There's only so much you guys can do, these fitment questions are great and all but the known fitments are known, if it's not one of those you have to man up buy stuff from a fine company like yours, and find out for yourself!
