Thumbs up Just 1 more Powerchip's happy customer

having owned multiple NA cars in the past (s2000, prelude and rx8) with ecu tunes, i did not expect much from the powerchip tune as from my past experiences, none of which really made much of a difference. of course, i knew about the limited ecu remapped gain already, but i did it anyway just because its the last mod there is left.

so its obvious i did not expect much from the powerchip tune even though i opted for the stage II tune.
while driving home, although the car became happier to rev like an ADD kid not taking his med....i told myself that its all in my head.

this is of course, until i floor the car and the RPM flys toward 9,000 and the car felt like as if its going to break away from the ground and fly away. the brute force that pins me down my seat can not obviously be just something i've imagined.

this is an absolutely mind boggling and an amazing mod. not to mention it turned a rather heavy car like the m3 into a nimble and the 'NA' race type of a car that we all wish it would be.

the customer service is handled by mike and his colleagues and they are truely top notch in servicing their customers. i hope he sell other stuff for the m3 because i would totally jump on it just for his guarantees for customer satisfaction alone.

Thanks for the review John! I'm glad you like the tune and my service.

And thanks JJ at LoMotion for making it easy for me to get your car flashed from 3,000 miles away!

This review is a joke right? I mean 9000 RPM, the car going to fly away, and a tune making a car feel lighter and nimbler. If you didn't intend it as a joke, then I appologize, but I found it funny as hell.

Kind of funny that you're the only one making comments like this isn't it? Bro, let this guy enjoy his tune for the love of god .

They will void your warranty if you powerchipped your M. That's the price you have to pay I guess...

there is a possibility the warranty will be voided, but why would you tell a service advisor you got your car tuned? SA doesnt need to know

Sounds like you got the rev limiter increased - I'd recommend against this - BMW have a "black box" that records maximum RPMs and hitting RPMs higher than the factory rev limit is a telltale sign of ECU modification...

lol I wouldn't tell the SA about it. In fact, I've been thinking about getting mine done too. Just saying though, they might scan it and find out if my car has a problem . It's a risk one must take.

I seriously thought that he was making a joke on all the common butt dyno phrases you hear after someone installs a new mod.

the only way your warranty is voided is if you tell the SA period the end. and no bmw, porsche, mercedes, lamborgini ETC. dealership have any equipment on-site that can read the ecu in coded form and tell that is tuned and even if they do techs are not taught how to read code

Or you live in a part of the country where the volume of BMW sales are pretty low, and they will do anything to keep your business. Such as your service advisor coming up to you and asking how the modding on your 335i is going, and asking if you will take him for a ride. And then telling him you bought an M3, and having him ask if you are going to get a pulley and ECU flash, and how he cant wait to check the mods out. True story. I feel very fortunate to have my dealership after reading all the horror stories on the 335i forums.

you have a good point. never really gave that a thought. i have my own shop so i never had to worry about a service advisor stalking me i also have plenty of friends that are service advisors and techs with tunes on there bmws. that guy was really backing you into a corner too can i go for a ride? hey you getting a pulley? i would think some of the dealers out there would have to be mod-friendly atleast to a point. my hat goes off to you sir b/c i cant drive any car in stock form.

i know what you are saying. but how else can i describe it other than using figures of speech? seriously, just think.

since you are only interested in 'objective' description:

"traction control light start flashing and rear tires break loose at 3k rpm when floor the car on 1st gear".

i will leave it up to your own imagination to figure out how much horsepower gain does the powerchip mod has to do in order to do this.

bump again for A+ customer service. nice doing business with you guys (JJ and mike).
