That's been my concern with the 335 vert. From the back (with roof up) it looks like an old mans sedan ... too sedate, too vertical. I have the impression that the M3 vert has a slightly more angled C-pillar, which is what I think the 335 needs.

The breaks in the roof panels that are highlighted in black really make the car look longer than it is. Especially that rear quarter fender.
The side view of the shift knob helped sooth my worries. It looked much more like it belonged when the black backside was easier to see, since it wasn't just this overly bulbous knob on a thin stick.

SMG will be available ??
If it is, I am going to get SMG on my 2008 M3! I will have my 08 M3 in March / April for sure. 1 of the first 8 at BMW bellevue.

There's that 8250 redline that BMW didn't change. I can't believe more people aren't upset about what seems to be BMW reusing the M5/6 rev dial in the new M3. Really cheap way to go about it.

For the M3 the issue would probably only really be apparent on AW, as the other colors would suppress how strong those black lines appear.

yeah the designers should of drove a SL around to figure out the hard top vert. but the thing looks so clean with the top down. it would of been nice if this one had the red interior.

Got my name down for one of these, but do not like the roof up shot one bit.
White is probably not the best colour in terms of highlighting the roof sections ? |

Of course they are! It was in the press release, and these have already been discussed on many threads. They were even pretty much predicted to be there 10 months ago when the concept M3 was revealed at Geneva, as it had them. Whilst we're at it....steering wheel? |

I'm going from what I've seen in real life, and the M3 dials seem smaller compared to the M5/M6 because the numbers appear more bunched up on the M3. I'm prepared to accept it might be an optical illusion, but compare these pics. The first pic is of an M5. It looks bigger than the M3 as the numbers don't seem to be as squashed up. The second one is of the M3. They look different.
