Thinking of switching tires

I really wanted the PS2's on my car, but when it came in, of course it had the Conti's. I only have about 4000 miles on them and I'm thinking of installing a set of new PS2's.

I haven't tracked the car and really don't plan to. I've always liked Michelin tires and I can't remember the last car I had that didn't have Michelins.

I know its my decision, but and pros and cons on either tire is appreciated.

As you say, your decision. I'm in the same position, with about the same miles. I can't see throwing out the Contis just to switch. The PS2 has a bit more grip, but it's not a difference that will be noticed on the street. If I don't do any track stuff, I expect I'll get 12-15K miles out out of the rears, and then I might replace with a set of something different, although the fronts should not need replacing at that point. I would prefer the Yoko AD08, but they are not yet available in the OE sizes.

The Conti's are probably the WORST track tire made. However like you said, you don't intend to track it, and they are perfectly fine for street use and in my experience last a bit longer on the street than the PS2's as well. Really no performance compromise on the street with the Conti's. I would keep them and enjoy your car.

AD08's are the BEST street/track tire made right now hands down.

They just need to make more fitments in 19"

I would not throw the Conti's away. I generally prefer the PS2, as do many others, but the CSC 3 is a respectable performer, and unless you're on the race track they will provide very comparable service.

Wait, what am I saying, my job is to sell tires...take them off immediately!!

I would keep them on. The joy of crappy tires is burning them off as fast as possible, so if you don't like the Contis, it's donut time (take video)
