Ok, so whats the deal with 7am arrival? \And just to double check, we will have two spectators. We can come watch and hang right? Also is there shaded areas to hang out in? Or is a ez-up needed for shade?

You must be present for the mandatory driver's meeting at 8AM. Otherwise you will have to be briefed by a shift-s3ctor employee when you arrive and could miss some of your sessions. There should be some shaded areas, but it is always wise to bring an ez-up if you can.

lol dude this is standard protocol for the track...

8AM driver's meeting is a little early (I'm used to 8:15-8:30) but it's not that bad

You need to always get a great night's sleep the night before and wake up early

Or get a motel. They aren't so great FYI lol

Not an issue for me its my passenger that cant wake up. LOL. The Holiday in doesn't look too bad... And I was thinking I would be better rested if I could wake up at 7 instead of 5.

At pretty much any other track I've been to, passengers are okay. Willow Springs International Raceway is an exception, because the track itself only allows ride-alongs from and with an accounted for and insured instructor, regardless of the wishes of the organizer.

At places like Chuckwalla, Autoclub, and Buttonwillow, I'm giving ride-alongs all day long after passengers sign a legal waiver. It's an IMO silly rule, and I hear that Willow Springs has lots of other stupid rules to make things a headache for organizers, like only allowing Willow Springs' safety personnel on track (i.e. no normal ambulances or fire trucks allowed or any outside agencies, you can only hire Willow Springs).

I've been considering running SoW again, but I believe this event is full? Ah well.

This is what I thought as well, but the video in the OP is at streets of willow, and almost all the guys being filmed have passengers in the car...

Unfortunately we are sold out, but yes you are correct regarding the rule. The only passenegers allowed are either an instructor, or someone riding passenger with an instructor driving. It is Willow's rule about no passengers unless it is an instructor.

During the side by side portion of the day we had passengers for filming and that was allowed, but during open track the only passengers allowed were instructors or those riding WITH instructors as stated above.

Why not leave the night before?

The Inn up there isn't a resort but for $50-60/night it's not bad. The closet inn is 5 miles away

You can get a good night's rest.

Nah. It's a piece of cake. I'm a driver.
After the track day I'll have to drive back to make a 10pm flight

I did one lap of america this year so this is comparatively easy
