First dealer car issues??

It seems all the dealers in my area got a 4 door Jerez w/ fox as an introduction car for the showroom....I am thinking about buying one. Should I worry about the "first" cars they recieved? Were they part of the "shipping mishap?"..I actually ordered a 2 door and was there to take delivery, but then saw the 4 door......!!
first time poster...

thanks!!

previous cars...89/95/97 M3's..91 M5..'04 S4 and '99 911....

The M3 might be new for us but BMW has been producing them for other countries since middle of last year

Honestly, even if it was part of the shipping mishap, I would have no qualms about taking a damaged car that had been repaired by the VPC. It's a BMW shop, it's effectively a full-service factory away from the factory, and they probably have even higher standards than we all do (and that's saying something). They also have strict rules about whether a repaired car can ultimately be sold or not; bottom line, if it doesn't end up factory new, it's scrapped.

I was at my dealer yesterday looking at interior color combinations. Their JB sedan/RF interior has a stone chip!

My previous negative feelings about clearbra are being reconsidered...

I think all cars that were damaged on the "shipping mishap" were demolished and the ones that are not damaged were sold to employees for leases.

Depends if you want a car that 5000 people have sat in and poked around in. Haha ... sorry.

i hear what you are saying here but what if you start encountering problems down the road that could not have been identified by a service shop. maybe some little gasket was broken or a seal was knocked partially loose. who knows...and that is why i'd be very wary of buying one of those cars.

I would worry about the car being thrashed by anxious test drivers. I was told by one dealer that their first allocation coupe was thrashed a little before it even had 100 miles on the odo.
