Black vinyl wrap for window trim: glossy or matte?

Finally found a pro to install the black vinyl wrap on the window trim of my JB car but I am not sure if gloss will look better than matte, any comments from someone who has installed these vinyl wraps, which tone will look better on a jerez black car? I was told that gloss will look better, matte may look as a cheap wrap???

I say gloss black simply based on the fact that it will match the mirror housings. Also - I really like the gloss black personally on my e92. You could do matte, but without it anywhere else on the car, it will look odd IMO.

My mirror housings are matte black, I think the E93 comes with matte black mirror housing, the E90 and E92 have gloss black

Ah didn't realize that. Then I would stay with the matte personally.

Had my JZB E93 done in matte. I think the brand was oracle vinyl. Matches the mirror housing and looks seamless.

Finally got my windows trim vinyl wrapped in matte black, check the attached pictures

Morning...I have the same JB 'vert, and often wondered about doing the matte wrap on the window trim some days I like the chrome, and on others, I hate it yours looks great any downsides to it? e.g., tough to maintain? what do you do if it somehow gets scratched? does the underlying chrome then show through (which would look horrible)

Anyway, since I also live in FL, hopefully your guy is close enough for me to get to can I ask what the cost was? Also, can I have the contact info for your installer? Thanks much

Hey Scott, the vinyl wrap is pretty easy to mantain, just clean it with the same shampoo you wash you car and it will look great, I really dont see any downsides, the vinyl wrap is strong enough to resist scratches and its price compared to the OEM trim is unmatched, I paid $250 for the product & installation, it was done by Carl Burl at Skinzwraps.com, tel 954-330-4680, he will go to your place to do the installation

I too have the same color as you. Matte definately looks good in your pics. Do they match your front grill?

I am about to do the same thing with my car but I am going to be either brave or stupid and try it myself. Do you know if they had to take anything apart to do the process?

Hey there, my trim doesnt match the front grilles since they are the performance grilles which are kind of gloss but I went with the matte trim mainly to match the mirrors housing which in the E93 are matte
They didnt take anything apart when installing the trim but it didnt look as an easy task, at least not to me, the most difficult area to get the vinyl installed was around the mirror housings, the good thing is that you always can take it out if it doesnt come out good, anyways good luck with your installation!
