Talking BMW M Performance Exhaust Deal

I just got this in the mail.

Is it worth $3500? I would love a sound that's not too bassy but enough of a growl to put a smile on your face. I wouldn't like the extra attention from cops, but the worst thing about this is spending so much money for basically ZERO performance gain. I heard this one has one of the best sounds, but it just doesn't seem worth it for the sound alone because for this price I could probably find an exhaust that still sounds decent but gives an extra 10 or 15 HP/TQ.

I think I should wait and save up for an Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust that would be complimented nicely by the BPM Tune I'm getting. Or get the BMW M Performance Exhaust and when the time comes SELL IT and UPGRADE to the Akra? The offer lasts till September 30, and I'm wondering whether that's really set in stone or if I bargain with them long enough they'll give it to me for that price later anyway.

I'd go for the M performance exhaust and keep it permanently. don't get caught up in the unholy pursuit of horsepower. spend your $$ on track days. I do think the MPE is worth it thought because the sound is just so good.

I love my MPE and the sound is truly intoxicating!! You can find the MPE cheaper than $3,500, I paid $3,200 for mine shipped.

Check the vendor section for exhausts. I think u can find it at Steve Thomas for $3199 shipped and maybe tax free depending on where you're at.

Remember I'm in Canada where things are slightly more expensive.

The price is in Canadian Dollars so in US it is about $3350

Even if I get it for $3,200, shipping to Canada is usually a fortune and I'll have to pay tax and possibly duty, which would add about $400 extra, so it would be over $3700 Canadian Dollars. If you think of it that way, $3500 is not bad.

All cat back gains are minimal, at best. Actually some cat-backs make less TQ on the low end (not the MPE though, as tested by Eurotuner a few yrs ago)

I just want a copy of the CD. I have the MPE already and would like to listen to the sounds my car makes when I'm taking the subway to work.

MPE here. The sound between 3900-4900rpm is nothing like I've ever heard. It has an exotic hollow signature in that RPM range at about 75% engine load.

Reasonably loud if you want it, quiet when it needs to be.

Ha. Just listened to mine. 42 seconds of a stock exhaust, a guy talking then the MPE.

I chuckled. Good advert though.

Want mine? Can't guarantee it'll get there unscathed, but worth a shot.

Pm me your address and I'll get it out next week to you.

So what if I get the Akra mid-section but with the BMW M Performance Exhaust. The best of both worlds? Or not good to mix Akra mid-section with non-Akra stuff?

Yup, though the MPE includes Inconel connecting pipes attach before the axle!

Is your perspective from the inside the cabin or what you imagine from the outside. Both perspectives offer a totally different experience. I am only interested in my enjoyment from the inside. That said, my AA axleback sounds awesome from the outside, the inside gets kind of boring unless I am going 80+, lower than that I just hear an overpowering howl.

Jeff, the AA overpowers the intake noise at lower RPM's. The MPE balances better with the intake at all rpms imo. Maaan, you should just get the MPE before your hearing goes out.

LOL, I'm convinced all the people who claim their exhaust isn't loud enough are deaf. The MPE is plenty loud for me!
