19" Volk TE37 SL = No Center Caps

Recently put on my new Volk 19" TE37 SL's and discovered that the hubs on my M were a little on the "looking like crap" side. So figured I would fix it and take a few pics in the process. Nothing really hard, but thought I would share for future generations

Here are the before pictures of the front and rear:

So I did one Rim/Hub at a time, removing the tire and using a Pee Grinder with a wire wheel attachment to knock off the big rust/debris:

To prep, I used some rubbing alcohol and a rag to clean the area of grease and loose dust/dirt. I then used a Semi Flat paint spray with a built in rust reformer that allows for there to be a little rust still left on the metal which the paint will then convert. It also does not require a primer which granted is not the smoothest surface in the end (using a primer and more detailed prep would fix) but its just a hub

Looks good. You may find it will come off though since it isn't high temp paint. That would be my only concern.

^^ Good call, I may have to keep an eye on that. I figured I would drive faster than heat and that would keep everything pretty cool

Great work. The exposed center of the hub always bothers me when I see cars with wheels like the Volks without a center cap. Nice fix.

Did it rust over again? I've been running my rusty hubs with my te37sl. I was advised (Not gonna name the shop) that if i paint them they will rust over again in the next few times it got wet... Maybe they just wanted me to buy center caps for 220$ lol...

Please let me know!
