Almost like how VTEC works on Honda. I eliminated the loud cold start; I didn't have the CEL light before doing the tune because I just installed the Akra Evo about 200 miles ago; the throttle response feels a lot more refined and tuned; and the impeccable service I received from Roman made it all worth it. Definitely, a mod I highly suggest doing. It really brought the v8 alive. Thanks to Roman at ESS and Johnny at JL Platte for making the whole transition worth it! Time to wait for more dry days........
Another great review! My cable comes tomorrow from IND. I will say that I was a bit confused on your posts with the E flash vs the Direct Flash. I thought they were the same thing. At this point, I'm not sure what is showing up in the morning. I'm only really interested in the result!

Congrats to both of you guys!!

I figured that was probably the case, but it wasn't very clear on the ESS website. Nate and Ilia said they were sending me a cable so I assume I'm getting the E flash.

Did you get the paper of instruction with your stuff? It should tell you what to do step by step

I got a paper, but it isn't as step by step as I would have thought. It doesn't say anything on it about the full program + calibration. Nothing on how to get the files from my email to the program on the computer where the car will actually read it. No worries though as the customer support is superb! Hope to chime in with my review very, very soon.

Nice combo, ESS is definitely the way to go with akra. Luckily my neighbors haven't complained about my cars yet, I feel it coming though. Anyway, enjoy that beautiful exhaust.

Since I have done my share of posting in this thread, I thought I'd include my experience here with the ESS+Akra EVO tune. I got the cable for the E-flash earlier this week and AJ was very quick to send the tune after I emailed the stock file to them. It was in my inbox within just a few hours. The next two days I spent trying to load a file that would not load. Numerous emails between me and AJ and a PMs between me and Roman occurred. I even took a video of my computer where the upload crapped out and emailed it to AJ. AJ thought he needed to send me a new file that had a slower download speed. He sent the file late last night and this morning about 7:30 I went into the garage, hooked up the charger, and let her rip. Worked without any issues what so ever! Took it for a test drive and in MDM the thing just spins the tires and triggers the traction control all through first gear. Can't wait to see what this thing does with a little heat in the tires! Idle is nice and quiet on startup and the SEL is gone! So far, I'm loving it. Thanks Jimmy for the great review and pushing me over the edge. Thanks to Nate/Ilia at IND and Roman/AJ at ESS tuning!!

its amazing how little tune can make a difference. The only bad thing is now that we are getting a small small taste of the power you know what is next lurking around the corner non other then a SC kit! lol.

Have fun out there and be safe!
