I'm not technician but yes that's my understanding.

Test it. Open your hood hold the button down and lock the car with your key then release then button. Does the alarm sound?

Had my winter wheel/tire set put on my m3 today, the 220M wheels with my 18" Michelin ICE tires look sharp for the winter (last time I used them was on my former sDrive Z4 3.5i - wheels fitted perfectly on the M3) ... so let it snow lt it snow ... let it snow

Got your winter shoes on yet? Don't you leave home without it you hear be safe

I lost a good friend about this time last year (his M3 rear wheels gave away and a tree took his life) ... don't anyone take chances be safe!

Tried this. Nothing really happened. I tried from various levels too, but nothing. I did however just lock the car with the button up and press the button several times repeatedly out of frustration, I did manage to get the alarm to sound, but I couldnt replicate it.

Hi Will,
they did a fantastic job repairing. It really looks like new. The night I picked it up I crawled home in the near freezing temperatures, and then installed the 18"s from Heath (thanks again Heath):
[Cell phone pic the next morning whilst getting my morning coffee]

Edit: Of course this side would look like new as it was never hit, but the other side looks identical.

Looks great, glad it was repaired as new. Have had the experience of getting hit (not my current car) and I was just amazed how well it can be repaired...

Gunmetal 18" look good.

I wish I could do 30 all around. I dont think the RCMP would be very pleased to see me with that though... Or more like NOT see me with 30 on the front windows!

What are those PA3s like in the cold weather? IIRC that's what you have on there.

On the tint ... I had the 2011 tinted side windows and the rear ... I found it too dark they called it "light tint"

So on the 2012 I will leave it as is, besides it is better backing into the garage with the 2011 I had to open the windows all the time to see and not hit my wive's car ... if I ever hit her car I'll be in the dog house for a long time

30 isn't all that dark and considered pretty normal in Ontario (Mark doesn't come here much any more right? ) for a tinted car. I find 20% and below really reduces visibility. I had the same 30% on my black-black Audi for 8 years and never had a problem.

TTbear ran this event in 2010....he hit 294kph in his M3 with a tune and an exhaust I believe. I can't imagine what a s/c'd M3 would do!!!!

Yep, that was Zahir's car

He was actually very philosophical about it, and promptly got to work repairing it - I think it might even be completed!

Race the Base was a phenomenal event - fantastic cause for four very, very worthy charities, and the machinery out there was absolutely, fantasticially, drool-tastic!!!

My l'il ole M3 was weak sauce out there, haha - I think there were only three BMWs there - mine, an e46 sedan (heavily modified), and a tuned M5 - not sure if any of them made 300kph. I was only involved because some friends that own exotics from Regina invited me along - otherwise, I wouldn't have even known about it. What a phenomenal weekend! I felt like a fraud, haha, but it was cool to feel like a rock star for a weekend, which one certainly did!!

My aim will be to comfortably exceed 300kph this year .

I just checked, Mike - my only recorded run (my first), was only 284kph My second run (which was 12kph faster, according to the digital readout on the M3), did not register They only used a standard-issue laser gun for the speed trap - something they will address at the 2012 event.

Yeah - thats what I thought.

The Race the Base event sounds pretty cool. Wish it was local to me. Curious to see what the S/C M3 could do.

I am sure you wont have a problem breaking the 300kph barrier in the new ride!
