I like em and think its worth it. They fit perfectly and are good quality.

No leaks, no bs, no drama.....except the extra low end tq and power of course!

Just ordered a set late last week. The rep on the phone told me they are expecting to be fully re-stocked in roughly 2 weeks time. So figure early April...

Btw, has anyone visited a dealership for a general service (like an oil change) and get any grief over having the test pipes installed?

Thank you!

Tomorrow I will be receiving via UPS my Turner Test Pipes. Hopefully I can get them on my car soon with Mike Benvo Stage 2 tune. :-)

Removing the cats is not going to cause the car to start running richer than it would with the cats. The car is target based and should still have very similar A/F ratios with or without the cats. You do however smell more fuel with them removed, and this causes people to think that the car is running rich.

It will not cause any damage or issues whatsoever running the test pipes with no tune, however, it is definitely not optimal. Tuning it properly increases combustion quality and unleashes the potential restricted by the factory program, while retaining safety at the same time.

I'm curious how the HP/TQ gains from test pipes compare to the Akra Evolution. Has anyone ever tested this?

I'm about to find out next week, I just ordered a set to go on an otherwise-stock exhaust. My Akrapovic Evolution made exactly what Turner claimed with a tune, so I'll be in the black by a lot if I get the same results!

Yeah, keep me posted. Are you going to do a baseline dyno with the Akra Evo and then an after dyno with the test pipes?

What made you want to change? It's mostly idle curiosity on my part, but if it's really close I might be tempted to go that route and put the Akra up for sale.

I'm curious to find out if low end torque is lost or not with TTP?

I got a extra stock xpipe and now I want to get the TTP and tune. I'm just scared something will break and I'll be hosed.

Dave, you said TTP and dealer are a non issue. Have you actually had anything (engine wise) replaced while TTP were installed?

What dealer do you go too?

Thanks!

For me it's mostly about keeping sound levels to a minimum. From everything I've read, the TTP on the stock exhaust sounds identical to stock in cabin under 3,000 RPM and only slightly amplified beyond that. If the Akra Evo is only a handful of HP/TQ more than the TTP, it's probably worth it to me to sell the Evo and buy TTP.

If the TTP picked up some of the lost low-end torque from the Evo, that would be gravy.

It sure as hell pulls like the Akra did, I got my Evolve tune done and the car turned in a huge improvement in lap time. I'll try to get it dyno'ed this week.

Cool. Thanks for following up. I think I've decided to make the switch. Akra's just a little too boomy in the low revs for me in stop-and-go traffic where I'm constantly running into the drone at 2,000 and 3,000 RPM. I like the idea of power without changing the characteristics of the car too much.

Turner test pipes, painting the muffler black, and some different tips should give me the "OEM-plus" performance and look I'm looking for. Maybe someday I'll play with some HJS high-flow secondary cats to pickup a little more power.
