sold m3...about to purchase Aston Martin Vantage...pics inside

Ive sold my 4th m3 in 10 years. Ive offically had 3 e46's and 1 e92 m3. Have loved all of them.

Was thinking of purchasing another e92 m3 but then I test drove the Aston Martin. Loved it so far. Just seems to be in an another class in terms of looks. The exhaust is amazing.

Ive also loved Dakar m3's so when i saw the yellow aston reminded me of it!

Have people owned Aston martins here? Whats the general consensus on the Vantage?

I still havent purchased it yet...but am very close. Still debating if i should do an e92 once more.

I love the car, just not in that color. All the best with your decision.

Those are nice cars but I don't think you can have that much fun with them as you can in an M3, buy an E92, put a supercharger, you wont need anything else after that!!

x2 love the car but not the colour or convertible version. I would get a grey coupe, its just looks classy in an aston.

From a novelty and "look at me" perspective I get it. However, from a performance driving / car enthusiast angle it is a total downgrade from your E92 M3. Even worse if this car has that horrible automated manual.

For the money I would rather have a 911 if you don't go M3.

Vantage is slower than M3. I wouldn't buy a performance car that is slower than my previous car, especially when it's more expensive

i love the m3, i love the aston.
the aston is not as good of a handler, but it's not bad. The engine sounds on the AM is amazing. I would suggest another color. In the Aston yellow does not suit as well , but that's just my opinion. Enjoy in good health, be it m3 or aston.

yeah, agreed. Hard to say no to a BRG version...but yet...a big disappointment. But it all depends on what you want in a car.

Top Gear did a pretty good review of the AM V8 vs M6 vs 911s a while back, I can't find the video, but pretty much they were disappointed.

variety is the spice of life they say. So if you do another E92, SC it. Or get this, or dump that same money into a 991 Carrera.

Honestly, I'd rather have a 991 C4S or an R8.

Thanks for the responses guys. I'll let you know what i'll do. Im also looking at a silverstone with red e92 stick. And im looking at a Aston coupe manual.

The Astons has just been very fun to drive. I feel its one car i wont really mod (partially cause all mods are ridiculously priced). Just getting away from the comfort of an e92 m3 is hard. I feel like i know that car so well.. Also the forums are great. On 6speed Aston forums are just OK.

as others said, go for it, but in another color. M3 can't compare to the Aston in terms of looks/prestige, and the Vantage's V8 sounds phenomenal. performance is close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades. if that's all that mattered to you, you'd be looking for something else.

The VP at my last job traded in his Mercedes SL for one and it was in the shop 3 times in a month in a half for various problems (Brand new Vantage). He was so pissed that he got back his SL at the AM dealership, drove straight to the Mercedes dealership and traded in his old SL on a brand new SL.

Top Gear certainly were not disappointed in sound. They said you could hear that thing from a verified 2 miles away.

Go for it, dude! Like others have said, maybe not the yellow. The gray looks bangin'. You can always go back to the E92 if you end up not enjoying the car. Heck there's so much used E92 M3s on the market it's ridiculous
