redesign / facelift ?
They redesigned the E90 tail lights, has anyone heard any news that the E92/93 will be getting a redesign as well in the next model year?

Hopefully they put this treatment on the M3. I remember the E46 M3 only received the rear facelift but that may have been due to mechanical differences rather than design.

The newest E92/E93 facelift pics as shown in the thread mentioned above seem to show some subtle reshaping of the headlights. I think this makes the chances that the M3 gets these new headlights a little less, now. However, in order to simplify production, they may move them to the M3 (E92/E93, and E90 also). It appears that this would necessitate some changes to the M3 bumper, unless the light can somehow fit behind the current bumper even with the new shape.
Tough to predict whether the M3 front end gets touched at this point. I'd guess I'd give it a 50/50 shot. The rear end is probably 100% though. The M3 shares the decklid with the 3 series, so any changes there (if there are indeed any - hard to tell still) will get carried over. Sheetmetal clearly won't change for the rear fenders, so that's not a concern. |
