GT-R to M3 DCT

Hi Chaps,
Has anyone come from a GT-R, back to an M3 DCT ?. Ive owned a GT-R, and know that the performance etc, is on an altogether different level than the M3. Ive also owned a DCT M3. Im of the mind of trying to get my driving pleasure, out of a car that is not as mentally quick as the GT-R. as i seemed to be going at ridiculous speeds everywhere in the GT-R. I also remember, how much i used to enjoy driving the M3, and that wasnt always foot to the floor, on the contrary, one of its best traits, was the mesmorising blip on the downchange. Just wondered if anyone else has gone this way ?, a genuine question, and not trying to start any aggro, regards, SIMON.

I've done it, I went from a GT-R to a M3 vert. The GT-R isn't civilized enough to enjoy every day. It's an amazing car, I mean what a sheer masterpiece of engineering. But for me it was the pinnacle, it made driving fast way to easy. And it sat in my garage most days.

So now I have a M3 convertible that I drive every other day and with the top down I can hear the glorious v8

No regrets here.

I went from a GTR to a 6 speed M3. Loved the GTR and used it as a daily. I'd have no trouble buying another one, it's a very nice car.

Just wanted to try the N/A V8 before its demise. Love the M3 and also using it as a DD. No where near as quick as the GTR, but it does everything well enough to make it a great car.

I went from a 6spd e92 m3 to a GTR and now Im back in a 6spd M. Both are great cars but I really did miss the ride, comfort, luxury, and everyday useability of the M3. The GTR is a great car to have as a second car but not as the primary, DD.

Man, it says a great deal about M3 when people can be happy with it after experiencing more hardcore performance in the GTR.

What's new? It's the best all-rounded sports car there is. I don't care what others say, but i consider the M3 a sports car.

I'm soon moving from 6mt m3 to gtr in the next month or two. But I will definitely be missing the v8 and the stick. I too wonder how many people make the switch back. I wouldn't think many though as everyone who owns a gtr loves them from what I'm told.

Having owned the GT-R, then M3 I enjoyed the daily use and interior build quality on the M3 more. On track, I enjoyed the M3 there more as well as it was more interactive and nimble. The GT-R was faster but feels a little more disconnected in comparison. I miss the "holy crap" speed of the GT-R from time to time though

Went from GTR to M3 DCT Comp Pkg.
M3 has better comfort, daily usability, easier to hop in and drive/airport runs/clients etc. Still very harsh on the road in comp pkg form in SoCal, but better than GTR.
Sounds FAR better then GTR, blips are the best feature.
But...no comparison in speed/quickness/ability to blow everyone off the road. The M3 has a tough time keeping ahead of a lot of car. I always liked knowing the GTR was king.
I am likely to see the M3 and get another GTR, as uncivilized as it is!

Comparing the M3 and the GT-R really defines their polar opposite traits. While both are worthy of their accolades, the two cars stand for very different things, people will gravitate towards those opposites in very different ways.

As others have said, the GT-R is an extreme machine, often far more extreme than the people realize. Conversely, the M3 can be far more tame, comfortable and forgiving than most people think.

you will get tired of any car regardless scuderia, 458, gt3 rs, whatever....just the way it is.

That doesn't mean one car is better than the other. It is all depend on what you are looking for. some want comfort, some want absolute performance.

i went from an e93 6speed to a gtr and couldnt be happier

i could see myself buying another M3 at some point but it would have to be a 6speed.

the GTR is brutally fast but the M really is a nice drivers car

Really, why? What changed? Were you looking pre-owned, price wise they are seperated by quite a bit of space. Or, if you leasing it's about what 250-300 more a month?

M3 has to be somewhere around 35k cheaper to buy, I just can't imagine anyone stealing a GT-R from a dealership these days.

That's because of the constant price increases over the years. That helps the resale value of used GTR's.

Not a money issue just trying to find exactly what I wanted, low miles, never tracked, never launched, black on black,lc1 ect...

As for the trans difference I have driven both the gtr and m3 and I can say this..

Gtr trans is loud!!
