I looked into getting a set last year around summer time and the going rate brand new was around 5k-6k depending on who could get them for you. I know IND can get them and so can LTBMW just not sure who else can. Maybe Tom@EAS can as well? Either way they are tough to get so with that I'm sure they are still at a premium

they are pretty slick though

True but just think about it. $5k-$6k brand new, very hard to get, not alot of people have it and that all equals probably being sold used for somewhere in the low to mid $4ks

They should hold their value I would think. If you're looking for a cheaper alternative, you could just use the Recaro Sportster CS which is the same seat without airbags or heat.

I was reading a post from 2 years ago about installing the perf seats. I understand that they are not DOT approved and that BMW dealers won't code the car for them. Who can do the coding? Anyone one if there is any extra parts (wiring harness, etc) needed for the install?

Will the passenger air bag still work with the seats? I recall it had to be disabled.

We can easily get these, and already have successfully coded for a few others on the forums to work properly.

From what I have read, it just disables the sensor in the seat. The airbag is just always active rather than only when someone is in the seat.

I've seen a few of them where it says that the airbag is disabled.. Look up at the light by the sunroof switch and see if it's lit after the install.

After proper coding, that light will go off and everything will work as designed. I have done quite a few of these and Recaros.

"Everything will work as designed" = the passenger airbag will only work if there's an occupant in the passenger seat?

Should work only if the passenger seat belt is fastened for cars without the occupancy sensor (such as Recaros). I could be wrong but I think the factory BMW performance seats have the built in seat airbags as well as the occupancy sensor.

From BMW:

Note
When the BMW Performance sport seat is retrofitted, the seatbelt reminder function for the passenger seat is deactivated.

The driver must ask the passenger to put on his or her seatbelt before setting off. The function of the passenger airbag is not affected by the seatbelt reminder function being deactivated. In the E92 the automatic belt feeder is deactivated when the BMW Performance sport seat is retrofitted. The purchaser should be made aware of this fact when buying the seat!

Hope this helps.

Thanks all!!

Is there a wiring harness that goes with the seat so you can have the heated seats active?
