With DCT builds delayed to maybe July or later does it make sense to wait for a 2009
and enjoy additional refinements plus the added value of a newer car.
On the other hand- just how much of a price increase will we see for the newer model albeit in a difficult economy and competitive market place. |

What additional refinements? Leather-matching cupholders?

I was thinking that if there were any sort of "issues" discovered during this first production run they would be fixed for the 2009 MY. Besides July is awfully close to Sept and I believe that's when the 2009 production begins if I'm not mistaken.

I don't think it will change much besides the year model.... If you get an 08 though and have very low miles that should make up for the year difference!

08 to 09 probably not much. Think about how much field testing will get done? I haven't even seen an M3 on the road yet.
But if my car wasn't heading to the exit port and I hadn't been to a dealer yet about it, I would wait for 09 just because it's right around the corner. It really depends on your situation also. |

Evidently there was a bulletin send Weds to dealers about shortages of DCT transmissions and 19" wheels. All unsold allocations were reverted to manual transmissions. For cars sold some will be delayed. Since my projected build date was actually moved up to the first week in may I hope I will be OK.
