Cloth seats = more head room/sit lower?

Hey guys,

Quick question. I will be leasing a 2013 M3 in the next 6 months or so (try and order one of the last e92 in production) and need to know the following: will the cloth seats give me more head room and allow me to sit lower? I work at a dealership in sales, but not long enough to see a cloth M3. I will get cloth either way because I like the look and want to keep weight down, but just curious if anyone has made a comparison. I sit SOOOO damn high in the leather, yuck. Thanks in advance!

Mike

P.S. I tried searching, haha.

EDIT: totally forgot to mention I am almost 6'4"

Can't help you regarding seat height, but I will say the cloth seats I've sat in felt great, and grip better on track than all leather (less sliding around). I like the cloth.

Ya, this car won't see the track like my 335i. Maybe once at streets or something. I have read about grip and what not. I drive the one on our lot every now and then and I just feel like I sit SUPER high. The rear-view mirror is like right in my line of sight.

Common Tibs, you know I would NEVER have a sunroof if I had the choice, haha.

I have manual cloth seats. The seat goes pretty low, you can't get your had under the seat its so low to the floor. I don't know if that's lower than the power seats.

I have Recaro Profi XLs in my 335i but I really don't want those in a DD, haha. Maybe some Recaros that recline or something. But they are so expensive. So I am hearing it might be a negligible difference?

Do this:

1) Hit up the SoCal forum and ask someone with the Speed Cloth to swing by the dealership so you can sit in the car.

2) Buy said person some lunch and compliment them on their shoes

3) Post results to forum and be liked by everyone/most popular kid in school

Having owned both, I do think the (manual) cloth seats have the ability to sit an inch or so lower than power.

When I saw this thread title in the forum index it read "Cloth Seats=More Head" with the rest cutoff. I was just about to change the upholstery in my car, what a let down.
