This is amazing. Nice job representing the Forum community.
Thanks BMW for doing this, really makes a huge difference to all of us. Now, can I have a job?!

Unfortunately that is not the case. I have gained some knowledge since the CTSV challenge and I also got a good tip from Johnny O after the challenge was over. Do I think I could have been within a second or so of Heinricy in an M5 with what I know now, yes.

Congratulations!
I saw the Infomercial on Speed. I think a stunt such as this by GM does not improve the image/mystic of the CTS-V. The Caddy did not lack media coverage prior to this challenge, and was already the darling of the automotive press. I thought it was a lose/lose for GM on this one...

It was wetter when I went out. Heinricy went out an hour and a half later and Johnny O 2 hours after me

Great job to MC... talk about stacking the deck in their favor. It was hard to tell from the video, but where on the track were those "obstacles walls"? It seems to me with the really long straight aways of course the M is going to suffer against 550+hp... ah well, it is what it is.
Nonetheless, an impressive showing in an event obviously set up to favor the V. |

That's all it was indeed. Same thing with the SHO 'challenge'. I never watch crap like that. At least Ford just ran one SHO; GM had to bring SEVEN CTS-Vs, plus 'banned' pro-drivers to beat the amateurs, PLUS tons of practice the other drivers didn't have, and still had the nerve to call the CTS-V the winner, when the M3 won under THEIR own rules? Freaking ridiculous.

I love how the guy who helped design the car, raced the car around the ring and admittedly knows the car inside and out had to come out and race to save face for GM... Then there's the guy that has been racing 2.5 times the amount of time that Michael Cooper has been alive... Gotta love marketing/advertising. Can we get BMWs designers/ring testers out for a drive?

The CTS-V challenge was a joke. They should have accepted a loss and given Cooper his proper respect
Good for BMWNA too, I'm glad they didn't let this go unnoticed. Maybe discount on BMW future products for him would've sweetened the deal |

So... any plans on selling off your original M3 steering wheel to those of us less fortunate?
