Lots of verts here - how do they handle in the snow with the winter tires? My e93 is in storage, but I had to move it the other day (only about 3kms) - I got stuck going up a slight incline. I got it out but not without doing some serious damage (to my marriage - car is fine ).

Youyou's looks so good, I'm considering driving it next winter.... what was cost?
Thanks

Drives very well in the snow actually.
The only real issue i would say is clearance. When there's 30-40 cm of snow on the ground it's tough to get around since the car is so low.
But we've had a few snow storms with up to 20cm and i had no problems whatsoever.
The studs make a huge difference.
Total cost including install was about 2200$

I went for the $4000 OEM winter package but was able to work a package price together with the car. They are run-flat which I assume a lot of the after market ones are not? Compared to my old Blizzak WS-50s however, these BMW tires are pretty slippery and the back end slides around a fair bit.. BUT I haven't got stuck anywhere yet, not even on snow covered hills. The car is low however and I hear the front end scraping on stuff when there is even a few inches of snow on the road.

Welcome M3 Mike. Like the MR! Oakville definitely is well represented here!

I have done a fair but of winter driving with the OEM package and have not had any problems yet. If I have a choice I will take the X5 (like last night) but so far I have been satisfied with the package.

Thought the delivery bay looked a little familiar!

That car was actually there when I bought mine - they had two MR E92's - a MT the other DCT. Very Nice - Congrats!

I am sure I will see you around!

Hi Everyone, 1st post here. : ) Took awhile to sort out the registration issue. All is well now so I thought I'd post a couple of shots.

Got the car back in late October and have to thank everyone here for information that helped me got the winter setup.

Coming from a quattro, have to say it handles better than I thought in winter. The car is amazing and I have a smile everytime I step out. : )

UNivek,
I think I may have seen you a while back...in November, there was a road closed (forget which road) and everyone decided to divert to Thornhill Woods Drive. I was going south and saw a black E90 M3 with those wheels going north. Did you get your winter setup from SimplyTire?

Hi bobbyz, ya, I remember that day, it was bumper to bumper traffic on the woods.

Yup, got mine at SimplyTire. Allen was great and ordered the Michelin PA3 for me from US, since they were completely sold out in Canada.

Nice setup and welcome to the forum. Your signature pic is really cool, you should post a larger version.

I like your setup, looks great!

The GTA seems to have the E90 M3 well represented!

How are you liking the sottozeros? The stock 18's look great - must be a MR thing as Vise is running them too - thought about doing the same, but I really like the 18's for summer.

well i was going for 19s in the summer so i didnt want to waste the stock 18s by buying another set of winter rims...

the staggered set up i have has enough traction even in the icy conditions we have here in montreal. although you still slide around a little if you give it too much throttle

Yeah - safe travels! I decided just to work from the home office today. Although roads didnt seem that bad this morning, traffic was brutal - so I just decided to turn around.

It was actually worse at noon. I drove by the plow depot at Downsview park at 11:30 and most of the plows were still there, but I just headed out an hour ago and the roads were better then they were at noon time with plenty of plows out. M3 handles fine in this stuff...its the 25-30cm days that ground clearence becomes an issue. I'll be heading home in an hour and dont forsee any issues.
Drive safe

Got home without any major problems... lucky I left so early though. Only issue was 2mins from my house trying to accelerate up the hill on Eastern Ave (eastbound) going over the DVP. Tires weren't gripping and traction kept cutting the power so had to turn DSC off to get moving, once I got going my only real issue was some jackass in a Cobalt trying to pass me as I was fishtailing/driving sideways up the hill.

Thanks... I was debating working from home but it didn't look that bad this morning so I went in. Traffic didn't get really bad until the halfway point so pretty much too late to turn around. Good luck to anyone out there today, take it easy and drive safe.

I plowed my neighborhood to get to work today. : )

I find using the M dynamic mode DSC provides a good balance for the times where we need some wheel spin. I configured the M button to have just that (without the sport throttle) so I can enable it by pressing a button on the wheel.
