This....I was quoted $500 to get a new key from the dealer, as both keys would have to be reprogrammed to do it right. It was an extra incentive to find the key. I found it in my swimming trunks that I used at the beach...the damn thing still worked after being in the ocean with it as well as surviving the washer and dryer. Dave

When I bought my car it had only 1 key turned in from previous owner trading the car So the dealer made another keyfor the car. When I picked up the car, the sales person said let me show you how to program key and aperantly the new key that he ordered was already programmed? No clue because it started the car and all. The original owner also turned in his second key so I ended up with 3 keys with comfort access so I know it's possible to have programmed more then 2.

I just bought a blank key/transponder off of Amazon. The dealer told me it was no good. They had to be ordered by a dealer, after producing ID and proof of ownership, for the paltry sum of $400 I would receive a key in a couple of days' time.

I had to produce proof of ownership when one of my CA keys got lost. This is CYA for dealers.
