2008 M3 Purchase Help
Hello all. I'm new here but, after looking at the content of this site I figured this would be the best place to ask for help. I think I may have missed the boat on the "almost free" purchase of a 2008 e93 M3 unless of course the sales guy is trying to rob me. Can anyone here offer some sound advice? Here is the email I just received from him:
Hello Steele: Here we go. On the 2008 M3 Convertible we will break it down as such. $75,170 M.S.R.P. I can either take $11,000 off or show it on your trade. With $3000 out of pocket, you payments over a 60 month period at 2.9% will be $1,322. On a 36 month lease, you payment would be $1,483 monthly. The payoff on your 2008 335 coupe is $40,143.69. It appraised for 31k. We can make up the difference with the discounted price. |

Im pretty sure there is no 2.9% for 08s. Might want to check on that.
09s are 2.9% btw. http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...r/Default.aspx

Yer being robbed, IMO.
If that's an 08 E93 M3...they're discounted HEAVILY right now. I've seen plenty go for around $58k. If it's an 09, you're getting a really nice discount. This is what I would do. 1) Negotiate the price of the car by itself. 2) Negotiate your trade in 3) On the purchase sheet, it should show the negotiated price of the car, less your trade in (or I guess an adder if you owe). Hope that makes sense. |

It is for an 08 e93 m3. I currently have a 08 e92 335i under lease with these guys. I have just over 17k miles on the car. When I took my 335i in for service a couple of days ago I saw this black e93 and fell in love. So, I'm just crunching numbers here to see if I can get a deal. With his first email on the subject I just can't justify it. Not after seeing so many others on this forum get the same car for $800 - $1000 a month.

If you are buying from BMW of SA, you wont get the smoking hot deals that everyone else is talking about. I called them a month ago and the salesman told me all of their cars are paid for (no floorplan financing so they dont pay monthly interest charges) so they will not be as desperate to sell the cars as other dealers who are paying hundreds or thousands a month for each car sitting. Just my $.02 - but 11 k is probably the max they will go down. It includes the 7500 rebate and then the 3500 in dealer profit. You probably could beat them up for another grand or two, but thats it.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Turns out my payments with the negative equity on the 335i will be $1,419/month. Maybe I can join you all in M3 bliss in a couple of years. Cheers!
