I choose the 18in, i dont think they are bad at all. If i was going to pay extra for 19 id rather go with aftermarket than the stock.

As for colors i believe AW shows off the lines of the M3 the best, hence why every picture in the brochure is AW.

So true, the fact the 18's are to ugly to not purchase the 19's!

And the build-your-own is OK, but what's so hard about posting REAL, non-photoshopped pictures of the interior and exterior options? Heck, MSN offers 360 views of the REAL interiors and exteriors of cars and trucks they don't even make! And did they HAVE to make every M3 at Ascari MR? Or every M3 is the brochure AW? Why is BMW so deathly afraid of color?
Um if you do a search you can find a whole PDF on M-DCT, and non EDC/EDC again these topics has been covered many times before. Last time i checked every interior/exterior on BMWusa is "PSed" Performance between 18 and 19? lol...

If you did a little more searching than being nit picky than maybe you would KNOW something about M-DCT, EDC, 18-19in wheels, etc.

I am a regular on this board and I think I can assure you I know as much as you, which is to say almost nothing. There is not a single review of M-DCT, nor non-EDC. American 18" wheels are supposedly different from European 18" wheels but there's no concrete facts - nor pictures. How can you claim to "know" anything? This is not nitpicking, nor is it a flame of you, it's a flame on BMW "marketing" which does a decent job of connecting its cars to racing, but makes most of the buying process troublesome if not hideous. There is a reason for all these threads - BMW has made the entire purchasing process an enigma. Even things that should be simple - like tracking your order - spawns dozens of threads on this board and somehow in this world of nearly instantaneous communication BMW can't seem to convey semi-accurate info inside of two days. I am one of the fortunate few that have been able to place an order, and I did it mostly in the dark. I would have placed the order FULLY in the dark if it were not for this board. Ask yourself how much you've learned from your dealer vs. what you've learned from this board and then re-grade BMW marketing's effectiveness. I give them an F.

That is true that communication with BMW is a PIA, I call BMW NA or my guy every few days to get up to date info. But remember, we are the early adopters, hence why a lot of us are ordering "in the dark". Once the car is officially released come March the general public will need more info, pics, etc which i believe BMW will step up.

Also since M-DCT is under limited production until June. We're going to be the guinea pigs and i suppose ordering one now will be ordering in the dark, you just have to have faith in BMW that the new tranny will be extraordinary. Or if someone is in doubt they can just wait a few months for a solid review.

Also the delays are related to the 19in wheels, BMW marketed those wheels so well that just about everyone wants them.
What drives the success in non-direct BMW promotion to date (Mags, Brit car shows etc.) is the current engineering and past versions of the M3. If you focus soley on what the BMW NA marketing team has done with the M3 in comparison to the 1 series or even now the X6...the marketing attention to the M3 is limited.

All that said, it matters not to 90+% of those who will be buying the new M in the first several months of sales. That crowd (this forum) does not need the marketing focus. After the early crowd orders are depleted (early next year maybe), then they will need to focus more on the 911 buyers, some buyers lost to Cadillac CTS (will never understand that) and they will need a good story for why purists should buy the M3 vs. an eventual 1 series Tii (if that comes state side). Anywho, just my observations/thoughts, which with $4 might get you a latte.

Bigger is faster, anyone knows that!

Yes, it's the same--saves 5 lbs. No ashtray with it, though.

Sure, Evosport will help you out. http://www.evosport.com/product/prod...B46.CSLROOF.02

What's the difference between PDC and PCD ?
PDC = Pre-Delivery Complex (incessant calls to C.A. or BMW customer svc. ship tracking, canal cam, etc.); PCD = PreCognitive Delay (e.g., being able to sense when your order is about to be delayed 4 weeks because of no 19s).
