As far as noise, in my limited experience so far, they are quiet until you are just about to come to a stop. 5mph and under. Then they sound like a Greyhound Bus! This stopped after track sessions but it started to reappear on my way home after some normal street use.

I might switch to Pagids but the track support at the tracks in TX seem to favor PF. Just in case I get in a brake pad pinch...

So far, my favorite pads. They cost more than other brands but you get more as well. Glad to you you like them. |

I also switched to the RS29s for this track season. I had already gone through two and a half sets of the StopTech Street Performance pads with my ST60/ST40 BBK setup. The Street Perf pads worked well on the track for 20-25 minute sessions, and were quiet on the street, but they sure wear quickly!
I'm leaving the Pagids in for the track season; we'll see how it goes. I'm trying to keep an eye on rotor wear, as suggested above. I would assume increased rotor wear occurs on the street when the pads are in an abrasive mode as opposed to a bedded-in, adherent mode. And, sure enough, Pagid street use=abrasive mode=noise. Picture of my car on the track, followed by picture of my car on the street: |

I'm looking @ picking up a front & rear set of RS29's this week. I won't be running them daily but changing them out with the wheels. For me, StopTech pads fade & smell 3/4th's through the second lap @ the N-ring. Guess I'm hard on brakes.

Anybody tried these Titanium Brake Shims? I'm interested in using them to reduce brake squeal with Pagid RS19 pads on stock E92 rotors. Think these may help?

Seriously, I was attracted to the Pagids because they were supposed to be quieter...I guess not?

Rs19s haven't been too noisy. I only noitice them from 5mph to zero, then they squeel a little bit.

I think the noise is somewhat dependent on proper bedding. My first set of RS29s squealed on the street, but not terribly so. They were dead quiet on the track when at temperature and working in adherent mode. My new set of Pagid RS29s that I had put on a few weeks ago is noisier--a bit louder on the street, and still squeaky on the track, as you can probably hear in my two recent NJMP videos. I wonder if I didn't get this new set bedded in perfectly. I also have a new set of ST60 friction rings mounted, though, so it could be the fresh rotor set as well...

Will the heat from track use vaporize the paste? I used the auto zone spray on anti-squeal stuff and it was gone after the first track weekend.

Same here on the Pagids - My ST pads did also but I used ATE anti squel paste I bought from Turner to prevent the noise. Never used the paste on the Pagids because it doesn't bother me enough.
