Pagid on the other hand, is very predictable throughout, say, a 20 min track session. That's why I started using it for time trial -- you can wait until the last minute and know that your car will stop

BTW the GB for Pagid is closing today.
The ST pads also wear very quickly. After two track days with my new Pagid pads (F-RS29, R-RS19), there is no visible wear.

As far as noise, in my limited experience so far, they are quiet until you are just about to come to a stop. 5mph and under. Then they sound like a Greyhound Bus! This stopped after track sessions but it started to reappear on my way home after some normal street use.

That's not bad at all. My PF01 sounds like a garbage truck when the pads have light contact with the rotors. But no sound if I aggressively engage the brakes.

I might switch to Pagids but the track support at the tracks in TX seem to favor PF. Just in case I get in a brake pad pinch...

Richard, did you every swap over from ST to Brembo set up? Using Pagids in the Brembos?

I have. The Pagids will be quiet for a while but the noise will definitely show itself and be quite annoying.

Yes I did. Although I am still on the stock Brembo pads for now. Have been driving the Spec Miata lately.

Out of curiosity, I took before and after thickness measurements of the Pagid Yellow RS29 pads on my StopTech BBK. And the results are nothing short of impressive.

Usage:
2x track sessions at MSR Houston, Angleton, TX
2x track sessions at Grandsport Speedway, Hitchcock, TX
2x track sessions at Harris Hill Raceway, San Marcos, TX

Each session consists of 15-20 minutes of hot laps.

Plus 300+ miles of street and highway driving.

Pad wear:
Front axle: max 2/64" (0.8 mm) - as little as 1/64" in some areas
Rear axle: max 1/64" (0.4 mm) - pretty consistent on all pads

Attachment 662216
I've been running this for some time now on GT-R(RS29) and on M3/1M (RS19).
So far, my favorite pads. They cost more than other brands but you get more as well.

Glad to you you like them.

I also switched to the RS29s for this track season. I had already gone through two and a half sets of the StopTech Street Performance pads with my ST60/ST40 BBK setup. The Street Perf pads worked well on the track for 20-25 minute sessions, and were quiet on the street, but they sure wear quickly!

I'm leaving the Pagids in for the track season; we'll see how it goes. I'm trying to keep an eye on rotor wear, as suggested above. I would assume increased rotor wear occurs on the street when the pads are in an abrasive mode as opposed to a bedded-in, adherent mode. And, sure enough, Pagid street use=abrasive mode=noise.

I'm looking @ picking up a front & rear set of RS29's this week. I won't be running them daily but changing them out with the wheels. For me, StopTech pads fade & smell 3/4th's through the second lap @ the N-ring. Guess I'm hard on brakes.

Anybody tried these Titanium Brake Shims? I'm interested in using them to reduce brake squeal with Pagid RS19 pads on stock E92 rotors. Think these may help?

Classic! I was looking at my PF01 box and noticed it says "Its Quieter". I interrupted all trains of thought within my area with, "You've gotta be kidding me!"

Seriously, I was attracted to the Pagids because they were supposed to be quieter...I guess not?

Interesting that they are very noisy with STs, with my APs they are quiet on the street.

Great pad.

Rs19s haven't been too noisy. I only noitice them from 5mph to zero, then they squeel a little bit.

That's funny. "It's quieter" than a garbage truck.

I think the noise is somewhat dependent on proper bedding. My first set of RS29s squealed on the street, but not terribly so. They were dead quiet on the track when at temperature and working in adherent mode.

My new set of Pagid RS29s that I had put on a few weeks ago is noisier--a bit louder on the street, and still squeaky on the track, as you can probably hear in my two recent NJMP videos. I wonder if I didn't get this new set bedded in perfectly. I also have a new set of ST60 friction rings mounted, though, so it could be the fresh rotor set as well...

Will the heat from track use vaporize the paste? I used the auto zone spray on anti-squeal stuff and it was gone after the first track weekend.

Same here on the Pagids - My ST pads did also but I used ATE anti squel paste I bought from Turner to prevent the noise. Never used the paste on the Pagids because it doesn't bother me enough.
