I thought frozen grey was an option on all 2011 M3s... so, just red inserts in the seats? thats it?

Limited edition model doesn't mean exemption from DOT regulations, unfortunately

BMW is really grapsing with issues across the board.

They are losing market share like crazy to Audi, Ford, and Daimler.

I always thought you could just order your M3 with the Frozen Grey finish? Only thing that really stands out for me is the red inserts on the seats. Atleast we're getting something special stateside for once (vs. the other already released limited edition versions in europe )

Not feeling the seats, why not use color threading like the Canadian "edition" models? Looks like they pieced together some leftover fox red leather and black.

Even a limited edition is subject to federal law.

I agree with the others who stated that we need the contrast stitching. THAT would be cool.

I wonder what else will be included that's not mentioned here? I'm not getting my hopes up for anything too exciting...

Reserving final judgement until full details released thursday, but a Limited Edition without a power bump is pathetic. If its just cosmetics then its all just bragging rights that you have the "limited edition"

Not yet. And given this new special edition package, maybe not at all (aside from with this package, of course). According to what Mark's M had said some months ago, all of the Frozen Grey allocation was being used for the UK and other European Countries first (Maybe Canada too?) but that US availability was tentatively some time after August. All that is from memory so don't quote me, but it's the general gist of it.
