How do you know? He could have had winters and be driving diligently with the utmost care?

So you are telling me when people get into accidents its because they are morons?

What kind of a driver do you think you are?

People get into situations like these because there is less margin of error when manuvering through traffic and driving in general through the winter with snow on the ground!

It doesnt matter what you drive (M or SUV), but understand in hazardous winter conditions or even hard rain, chances of wrapping around the pole are much higher!

My god this is just an accident on the driver's part, and I am amazed at your explaination!

Listen buddy, you are the ignorant one!

We already have members who have reported how bad there experience with the Ms have been in the winter!

On the contrary some still drive them!

FYI I have had enough experience, driving sports cars in the winter.

The Maserati GT
The Continental GT
The SL600
The E46 M3 Vert
The E92 M3

Out of all these cars the bentley CGT outperformed everything, because of AWD (as you mentioned earlier)!

So stop assuming I am not speaking from experience!

I respect your opinion but dont jump to conclusions if someone doesnt agree with you!

That is a personal choice. I have several other cars to beat and drive in the winter / snow. My E92 335 never been even out in rain.....forget snow.... Once the M3 is here, it will be a sunny day car as well.

We have enough i-diots out in snow here is Seattle to not to drive period.... Forget taking the M out. ....Plus, I am a detail freak who likes to keep undercarriage cleaner than the paint above :-)

And another one, lambo LP640 Spyder from the Gardiner Expressway.

This owner is from my area.

He had a black one earlier, he got this recently...after crashing it

Here we are all cleaned up with the mud flaps gone.

Somehow we survived the snow, ice and wild SUVs with 4-season tires. I don't really think that my compatriots in Colorado drive better in winter than Canadians, but who knows for certain?

For some clarification about the Scud, I found the thread the guy started over at 6Speed:

The road condition wasn't that bad and my Scud was in control. I saw RWD Mercedes, BMW and Lexus driving around, it was only 2 or 3 miles away from my house and I thought it was a great opportunity to take some pictures of my car in the snow and I think it is worth it !

Because apparently in Colorado & other parts where these people reside all exotics and M's are on the loose racing in the winter in WORSE conditions then CANADA
Well, that is a Ferrari, so he's probably out on summer high performance tires in the winter. It's hard to see if he spun or if the Italian electronics gave out from the cold and he stalled in the middle of the road.

I still haven't seen any evidence of snow and ice conditions being worse in Toronto than Colorado. Our first snow over a foot was several weeks ago. It actually snowed, but didn't stick, on the last day of summer, leading me to put my winter tires on by the first of October. The big difference is that we get nice weather in between winter storms.

Let's not lose track of the thread. Maybe Mr. Vert could screw up his nerve and back his car out of the garage as send us a picture of how terribly scary it is there. That might drum up some simpathy.

Everytime you say that

But Dave lets agree to disagree...you make some valid points but that doesnt change my opinion or infact the others either.

We think M's should be garage queens in the winter for many reasons, and you dont!

Some people drive Scuds in the snow and some people drive F355s in the snow....the outcomes are infront of you.

The lambo in orange posted above is being driven in snow, but hey to each his own.

He still hasnt learnt his lesson after crashing his black one, but hey some of us are just ignorant...

Dont make assumptions, that he was on summer rubber?

He could have been on winters too and this kind of shit is more likely to happen on snow covered roads, then on a hot sunny day with clear conditions!

And even if he is on summers, these are exactly the kind of people I want to avoid driving my M with during winter!

You can see on the sidewall it says "PZero Corsa", so he was running on R-comps. Soooo.... both of you are wrong

I think they were referring to the 355 and assuming it had summers on. As you say you can see what the Scud has on.

Good eye.

Unfortunately for him, Rs generally have less tread than summers AND the compound that's so soft and sticky in the summer turns to brick in the winter.

They are nose heavy, huge pieces of shit and they do great. I have been in my M in those conditions and my car performed great as well.

If you have the means and desire to have two cars, good for anybody who does (seriously). And, yes, an AWD car with snows would have better traction under acceleration than a comparable RWD car. Personally, I like having one car that can handle anything, a snowstorm in the mountains or a track in 100F heat. Just don't say that the M cannot be driven in severe winter conditions unless you have actually experienced it yourself with the right equipment (tires).
Do you check out what I have on my car, with the drop and molded front I wouldn't have been going anywhere.
