Will do. I need to wait until everything else I've ordered/bought recently is on the car so I can confirm that's what I want to do next.

Thanks. The LED light is an OEM part but we take the after market matte black sides and paint them Gloss black or body color.

Why don't you refund the cost of them if people return their stock ones to you ? That'd make them cheaper, more people would buy them, and you'd make the same profit .

i was reading the thread and thinking the same exact thing
as long as you are repainting them even if the ones sent it had any scratches they would end up looking great
and then the housing would be OEM not aftermarket
i'd send in mine as is
you send me a repainted one in return
and you would not need to track which one was from which buyer
since you are sending out a different one anyway

This is a route we've also considered, but unfortunately the problem lies in the chrome finish of the OEM pieces. The finish is quite tough, and does not prep well. Simply scuffing the finish leads to paint that will chip from the sidemarkers over time, but sanding all the way through the piece requires hours of labor and prep time, which increases the cost.

For this reason, we've found that the best possible route is to start with a plastic trim piece. The finished painted piece is more durable, and higher quality.

Totally agree with Ilia here. I had the stock ones painted gloss black and had the M3 badge filled and it was quite labor intensive.

i know
it took ages to sand mine down
and then i had to use several layers of primer
then the paint
no chips yet thankfully

so how much for just the painted plastic piece
without the tinted light piece?
