Gintani exhaust

Hey everyone. I am looking to get four resonated catless x-pipe for my m3 to pair with stock muffler for now. Almost decided on Gintani x-pipe, but there is not much info about it that i can find.
I dont want to have buyers remorse, so i am looking for the feedback from those of you that have any expirience with Gintani x-pipe with stock muffler or full Gintani exhaust. How is the sound, performance, is it too loud for a street car? The car will see a few track days a year.
Feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I've heard catless full Gintani Sport and it sounds amazing! I have Gintani sport rear section and it great but I want a catless xpipe to get the full deep exotic sound.

I have the full Gintani exhaust with sport rear section and love it. Constantly get thumbs up around town and the downshifts are amazing. I'm actually wanting to get the race rear section because I want louder but people say I'm
Crazy lol

I have heard that Gintani full system with even sport muffler is too loud for a street car but sounds amazing.
But ofcourse perception of the sound is subjective.
I was thinking to pair Gintani x-pipe with akra muffler which is not too loud on its own.
Anyone has this combo?

I have the full gintani exhaust. No cats, 2 resonators I believe and the sport rear. It sounds amazing. It's a little loud sometimes.. I recently got an exhaust ticket here in NY as I was pulling into my driveway.. Ticket said inadequate/no mufflers lol. But I think it's the best sounding exhaust for the M3. I did a lot of research before I purchased and this was the exhaust that fit my needs. If pairing the x pipe with stock mufflers then should sound good. I'm still thinking about finding some one to trade my sport rear for a race rear.. Good luck

I have the HFC x-pipe with OEM rear section. The car is perfect for daily driving. Not too loud when cruising down the street and definitely not loud enough to be offensive. Also ZERO drone.

When you stop next to a car and hear the reflected sound, however, it is a subtle reminder of what is inside. At WOT, its a whole new beast. Reasonable sound level from your driver's seat with a great tone and without being annoying or overwhelming. Roll the windows down and you will be in love with the sound of the car. People have constantly tell me how great it sounds from outside the car, too.

FWIW, I had the quad-resonator section for a while when I had one of my cats repaired, and it sounded almost identical to the HFC version (I honestly couldnt tell a difference). I do like the better smell from the HFC than the catless, however, especially when sitting in traffic (common in LA, right?).

In short, I couldn't be happier.

Oh, and no question about performance gains. I didn't bother with a dyno, but +20 HP and +20 TQ minimum to the wheels are common with both the HFC and catless Gintani systems.

Thanks for you replies guys. Its very helpfull in deciding which x-pipe/rear section combo to choose.
I am looking for a combo that gives a nice bump in performance with a tune, more agressive exotic sound but not too loud and get rid of the ugly look of stock mufflers.
I am yet to hear a negative review about Gintani exhaust, so i think i am going to go with 4 resonated Gintani x-pipe, but am uncertain about the rear section.
Borla muffler sounds interesting, because its a great company and is not too expensive.
How is this combo catless gintani with Borla race muffler? Does it drone at 2000-2500rpm?

If volume is a concern, keep the stock rear section. Try it first before spending more money on a rear section you may not need. You can always add the rear section later, but the performance is in the X pipe. You lose about 15-30lbs on the rear section and gain a bunch of noise...no real power.

My initial inclination was to try catless x-pipe and keep stock muffler and see how it sounds. My main reason for doing this is to get some more power and drop a few pounds. Volume is a concern because i live in a quiet neighborhood and i am 50.
This car is not a daily driver, but still dont want to look like an immature middle aged men. But that ugly look of stock muffler and the extra weight really bothers me and would like to change it sooner than later.
I am ok with louder than stock, but not too loud.

I have the Gintani quad resonated with the valved sport rear section. It sounds fuKin MEAN!
It's pretty loud but not too loud. The valve is nice because when closed it removes most of the drone which makes driving on the highway quite nice. I have less "drone" with my current set-up than I did with stock X-Pipe and M-Performance exhaust.
Gintani is a great company and the guys over there are great to work with. I did my own install and Arno always answered my calls to walk me through everything I needed. They even sent me complete step by step instructions.

If I ever change the rear section it will be to Gintani Race

Here's the link with pics and vid's.

Have the same setup as j2m, and it's the meanest out there! You'll feel the extra hp when you drive it! And installation was perfect! Valved will help kill the drone! It's nice and loud, but not the kind of loud that's faster than the car. Plus those 90mm tips look aggressive. You won't be disappointed, as j2m mentioned Arno and the guys at the shop are really helpful. Let us know what you decide!
