New Coupe Aux-in not working?

Hi,

New joiner to the forum. I bought my first BMW yesterday. A new 3 coupe 330d M Sport and love it.

However a question. It has Aux-in and USB-in ports. I plugged an aux cable into my iPOD and connected it into the aux but nothing happens. I have scrolled through all options on the stereo and I only have CD-Tuner-USB - no aux option.

It is just the standard audio system but I would have thought aux-in was enabled by default? I am going to try my iPOD through its USB cable but am confused as to why the aux-in is not showing or working. As a car newby I am sure I am missing something.

Ok I have done a search on the web and found a lot of stuff on the USB interface now and this BMW Y cable that you seem to need.

However still cannot see answers to the question of whether my aux-in should also work?

I have just bought a coupe 320d 2008 model. It only has an AUX jack connection. When I hook up my Ipod and selext AUX on the radio nothing happens. Can anyone help please?
