Dealer Cost to CPO an M3?

What is the actual dealer cost to CPO an M3?

I was recently looking at a used 2008 e90 M3 on my local dealer's lot and was told that it would cost $5,000 to get a CPO warranty for the car. This is much higher than the $3k or $3.5k I was expecting!

From what I can tell the car is in good shape and has fresh tires. I imagine the only cost to the dealer would be the time to do the inspections and cash to BMW corporate for the CPO status.

Should be about $2,900 for the policy and $400 for the tech time.

Note that the policy number might have some profit built-in and the tech hours are at $175-200/hr.
