I don't know why this was directed at me. I don't have and have never had a UK app or account. Don't know anything about that mess. What I had, and still do, is an active BMW Assist account here in the US. This should work on the new app here in the US, and it doesn't. That's what I was commenting on. It should just work. It doesn't. Epic Fail.
I had some time on my hands late last night (really early this morning) and called to have them reset it.
Wow. I can now unlock or lock my car with my Iphone. I can see using this exactly ... Never.
As far as locating my car, in my 50 years I have lost a car in a parking lot exactly ... Never. So I don't ever see using that feature.
And I have been sending google map searches to my car for 3 years now, so that's nothing new.
If some folks like it and find something useful, good. Go forth and be happy. I just don't see the big deal here. Maybe there will be more useful features in the future.

Pretty useless app that I will probably never use. The lock/unlock takes at least a minute to work and sending an address to the car doesn't work most of the time. Cool app to have but I can't see when I will use it.

It'd be more useful if you could start the car.

Just an update: still no unlocking, and the google maps send function doesn't work. So bmw is zero for two with me.

Just came out my `08 e92 M3, took delivery of a `12 this week...my new app experience is similar, no unlocking and no goggle map send even after 'fresh' set-up with Assist...very frustrating!

Mine works for my 2012...but Yawn. I don't think i'll use lock unlock and never use the google map to car feature.

I'm sure it will mature in a more useful app at some point.

I had to call in to get my username and password and was told they were in all caps, so that's what I used and it worked.

I had to do it. Apparently depends on the software your dealer used because apparently it can sometimes default to all caps per the nice lady I talked to on BMW Assist.

I agree with those bashing this app, having to log in EVERY time I want to use the app takes too long, why can't it just stay signed in like every other app?

Seems they may have a security liability nightmare on their hands with this app.
It would appear that BMW A has the wrong VIN(s) associated to your email address.

The PIN is just another security measure incase your phone is stolen or lost and not auto-locked.

This app is just a extension utility. Not something that your gonna use everyday. Why bash a free app that gives you something that you never had before. Who cares whether you use it or not.
